FOX has officially ordered a third season of Batman origin series Gotham. Despite questionable ratings the series has proven a success with viewers, currently airing it's second season.
“It takes a very special team to tell the tales of Gotham. For the past two seasons, Bruno, Danny and John have masterfully honored the mythology of Gotham and brought it to life with depth, emotion and memorable high drama,” said David Madden, Fox’s Entertainment president.
Gotham is the fourth DC Comics series given a renewal this season. Also renewed are The CW’s The Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow. It's also more than likely that Supergirl will gain a renewal, as CBS Corp. CEO Leslie Moonves indicated that it would also continue next season.
Gotham will join Empire and Scream Queens next season on FOX.
