Ahh, Zac Efron. Who doesn't love him? Since he rose to fame as Troy in High School Musical, the former teen idol has melted the hearts of literally thousands with his cheeky smile and well crafted physique.
You may think you know all there is to know about the 28-year-old, but you'd be wrong. To celebrate Zac's upcoming role on Baywatch, let's explore everything Efron with some insane Zac facts, or, as I like to call them, Zacts.
Zact #1: He's A Keen Sportsman
We all fondly remember Troy being basketball captain, but away from the screen, Zac is a keen sportsman. His favorite sports include golf, skiing, and rock climbing.
Zact #2: He Made Early Appearances On Some Of America's Most Popular Shows
Before he become the face we all know and love, he started his career with minor roles in shows like ER and CSI: Miami.
Zact #3: His Voice In 'High School Musical' Was Overdubbed
Overdubbing is where an artist sings over a previous track they have recorded, creating two versions which are mixed together as one.
Zact #4: As He'd Signed On After The Songs Were Written, They Were Slightly Out Of His Range
But that isn't to take anything away from his singing ability. All of the songs in the show were originally written for a tenor, one of the highest in the male vocal range.
Zact #5: He Was Involved In A Fight With A Homeless Man On Skid Row, LA
The "most terrifying moment of his life" occurred after his car ran out of petrol in a rough area of LA.
When leaving the car, the friend he was with got involved in a fight and Efron went to help, but got hit in the face. Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, he said:
"I saw that [the homeless man] was carrying some sort of a knife, or shank, and I got out of the car to disarm him. At some point, he dropped the knife, and I got hit pretty hard in the face -- and almost instantly the police were there to break up the fight."
Zact #6: His Training Routine For 'The Lucky One' Was Intense
Efron trained five days a week for four months prior to starring as the U.S marine. His strict diet consisted of protein shakes and eight-egg omelettes.
Zact #7: But Even Harder For 'Neighbors'
Although Zac was in great shape the film prior, he bulked up even more for the comedy flick, where he played a out of control frat boy. Again, his training include an abundance of protein shakes and eggs galore.
Zact #8: And Damn Right Insane For 'Baywatch'
Already looking far beyond what 90% of the population will ever achieve for Neighbors, Zac has set the bar incredibly high for his beach romp. Perhaps motivated by fellow co-star Dwayne Johnson, Zac has undertaken swimming, arduous obstacle courses and tire shrugging.
