Let's take a minute and catch our breath with all that's going on in the superhero world. You good? The [X-Men: Apocalypse](tag:1194267) trailer was released today and I can confidently say that it was awesome! My mind is seriously on overload with this new trailer,

Season 2, and the upcoming

Batman v Superman

. And to be honest, I wouldn't want it any other way. Let's see how Apocalypse rolls with his Four Horseman. Also, is the reason why Fox doesn't want to give up Fantastic Four; because they want to use Kang the Conqueror.

Did you know that Spider-Man was once part of Apocalypse's band of bringers of the end times. I just thought that was an interesting tidbit of information. X-Men's history in the comics are as convoluted as convoluted gets! En Sabah Nur is supposedly the first mutant, but it's hard to tell given the comics history. There's a ton of lore around En Sabah Nur. But I am curious on how exactly does he power up his Four Horseman?

There's A Lot Of Religious Overtones

Jesus Christ supposedly gave the toast of the century at his Last Supper. Something to do with flesh of my flesh, and blood of my blood. Apocalypse is basically a god and he probably will have access to some sophiscated alien technology. It's totally possible and far more likely for the Storm, Psylocke, Angel, and Magneto to be transformed in one of his chambers.

But that's not as symbolic as letting them drink his blood to gain extraordinary new powers. There's precedent in the comics, for En Sabah Nur blood to cure de-powered mutants and restore them back to greatness. In my mind, this would be an awesome way to show that his disciples will have faith in him. But they could just have him transform the mutants with otherworldly tech instead.

Is Kang The Conqueror The Reason Fox Didn't Give Fantastic Four Back?

He's one of the biggest baddies in all of Marvel Comics. He's a time-traveler and he's one of the most powerful people in all of fiction. Now, he doesn't have the intimidation factor of En Sabah Nur, but he's ain't nothin' to mess wit'! He has amazing technology and is one of the smartest people in comics. His real name is Nathaniel Richards, or Immortus -- it's really hard to keep up with all these Marvel names.

The reason I think he's the next big bad; primarily because the X-Men franchise love this timey-wimey type stuff. And I hope there is a great reason behind not selling Marvel back Galactus and Silver Surfer. We'll see in the upcoming year, how exactly Fox got the television rights for their X-Men television shows!

So, how do you think Apocalypse will power up the Four Horseman?

X-Men: Apocalypse hit theaters on May 27th in the United States!
