If you're anything like me, you prefer to read a book before seeing it interpreted onto the big screen. This year Hollywood producers are sifting through a whole slew of popular titles and it's no surprise to me that Les Bailey's premiere offering, The Vampire Game: Discovery is being considered.
My sources are telling me that the author was asked to write up a film treatment for a production company that has high hopes of converting the new vampire trilogy into a feature film, which has the new author tickled pink.
"How I see my books is how I see movies. In fact," explains Bailey, "the books I have been writing were derived from awesome dreams that I have had at one time or another. I view them much the way I do movies. So naturally when I wake up in the middle of a great dream, I've often been disappointed. Mostly because when I wake, it seems as if I didn't get to see the rest of the movie. All of my life I've had dreams much like what I write about, and I decided in my early thirties I needed to start finally writing them down. Once they made it onto paper, I was amazed at how cool they were. It soon brought the realization that I needed to find a way to share these cool ideas with others. Having my books made into a film would be my ultimate dream!"
The way I see it, if these producers are a wise lot, they'll snap up The Vampire Game post haste. In my humble opinion, Bailey's work has block buster written all over it!
