Melissa McCarthy has revealed her motivation for designing clothes in a new interview and her wish is to make every women feel stunning, whatever her size.
McCarthy, who is believed to have lost over 50 pounds on her own diet journey, also revealed that she herself is a size 14 and that she is fueled by a desire to make non-frumpy clothes for larger women, she explained:
"A good portion of women in America are size 14 and higher. I just try to make clothing that’ll make all women feel really good."
A love of clothing runs through Melissa's family and she explained to People that her love of fashion is no flash in the pan. She told interviewers:
"It’s something that I’ve dreamed of doing since I was probably in sixth grade. I started making clothing, my grandmother was a seamstress."
Melissa also revealed that, far from just being the face of the collection, she is also involved with the design process and finds it "fantastically rewarding" and is "loving every single minute" of her time at the drawing board.
