Here's some news that will probably blow your minds on this fine Friday — medieval Scandi drama Vikings is getting a fifth season, and to celebrate, the History channel has also chosen to announce some more rather epic news.

It appears that Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers will be joining the cast when the new season hits our small screens. Yep, it's been confirmed that the next 20-episode installment will provide ample opportunities to gaze upon the The Tudor actor's beautiful face.

Jana Bennett, the general manager of the channel, said:

“The brilliant writing and depth of historical research and authenticity brought to the screen by Michael Hirst paired with our talented cast and crew, has made this series one of the most compelling, visually stunning historical dramas on television. Vikings has raided the hearts of audiences and we are thrilled that Jonathan Rhys Meyers will become a bigger part of the History family after his incredible performance in our upcoming production of ‘Roots.'”

I don't know about you guys, but I can't wait until Meyers joins this wonderful cast of Viking babes:

Are you excited for Season 5?
