Daredevil season 2 is now streaming on Netflix and anyone who was a fan of the first season and Jessica Jones will probably be binge-watching all 13 episodes by the end of the weekend.
There are many things to look forward to in this season, one of them being the long-anticipated introduction of the Punisher to the MCU. Anyone who is a fan of the Punisher knows that the infamous vigilante has had three hits at the bat in the movie industry and has had three strikes against him. However, Jon Bernthal's run at the character might be the best performance yet and this is shown in one specific scene.
**** BEWARE SPOILERS AHEAD****
In the third episode of the second season, Punisher has Daredevil subdued and chained to the rooftop of an apartment building. Punisher then tapes a revolver to Daredevil's hand with a single bullet and gives him an impossible choice. Daredevil can either shoot Punisher to stop him from taking the life from a known criminal or let Punisher do what he does best with low-life thugs.
If you think you recognize this scene from somewhere, its because its right out of the third issue of the popular Punisher comic series Welcome Back Frank. In this series, Punisher has started a mob war against the Gnucci crime family but in the third issue, he gets intervened by Daredevil. Punisher is able to subdue Daredevil just like in the episode and give him the same choice.
Jon Bernthal even gives the iconic line when asked "What kind of choice is that?", he replies "The one I make every time I pull the trigger". It's just so cool to see an actual iconic comic book moment come to life on the screen. It also shows that Jon Bernthal has studied and worked hard to bring the character of Frank Castle to life.
