Dylan O'Brien, the 24-year-old star of The Maze Runner and Teen Wolf, has been injured on the set of the third installment of the Fox franchise, The Maze Runner: The Death Cure.
While filming The Death Cure in British Columbia, the actor was reportedly run over by a car while performing a stunt. According to TMZ, he incurred multiple broken bones from the accident. Production of The Maze Runner: The Death Cure will be suspended while O'Brien is in recovery.
Fox has since released a statement (via The Hollywood Reporter) addressing O'Brien's injuries and the production status of the film:
"Dylan O'Brien was injured yesterday while filming Maze Runner: The Death Cure in Vancouver, Canada. He was immediately transferred to a local hospital for observation and treatment. Production on the film will be shut down while he recovers. Our thoughts go out to Dylan for a full and speedy recovery."
The Maze Runner: The Death Cure was set for release on February 17, 2017. At this time there has been no update as to how long recovery will take.
The story is still developing, but we are sending out well-wishes to O'Brien as he undergoes treatment.
