There are age-old questions, like, why are we here? What's the meaning of life? Is there life in outer space?
And then there's the REAL age-old question, who would win in a fight, Batman or Superman?
That's a question comic book fans have been asking themselves since the first appearance of Batman in 1939. Both superheroes have legions of fans rooting for them, which is no doubt why Warner Bros. knew 'Batman v Superman' would be the most-anticipated superhero movie of 2016.
What better way to kick of a series of Justice League movies, than to pit two bosses against each other?
We've seen the trailers and the posters, but we still know so little about what's really going to happen. Let's tackle the burning questions fans have about 'Batman v Superman.'
Who will die?
Any good superhero movie has a death. Whether it's a main character, or a beloved secondary character, nothing grounds a movie like a death.
But who will it be? My money is on Lois Lane. Lois Lane's death would be the catalyst that would send Superman into a tirade against Batman. Whether she dies at the hands of Lex Luthor, or as the result of an accident, seeing Lois Lane die would strike at the hearts of the audience.
Her death is not unpredented. She dies when Superman mistakes her for a villain in 'Injustice: Gods Among Us.' Superman is destroyed when he realizes his mistake, and that she was carrying their unborn child.
No amount of sunlight will erase that pain.
What don't we see coming?
There's gotta be a big twist to make a superhero movie, any movie, a hit with audiences. What's it gonna be?
Although we've seen Lex Luthor in all the trailers ("The red capes are coming!"), I'm guessing we'll find out the Joker has been causing all sorts of mischief. We know he's sending Batman cryptic message (remember the red writing on the suit?), so he's got to be behind some of what goes down.
How does Robin figure in the movie?
He doesn't. Robin isn't a big part of any Justice League story. In fact, he's the star of 'Young Justice,' one of the best Justice League cartoons ever. But he's not a big player in the world of superheroes. He sits out this movie.
Whose cameo will be the most memorable?
Neil deGrasse Tyson, the scientist who's trending, is going to make a memorable appearance in 'Batman v Superman.' You just know Lex Luthor is going to consult Tyson about the mysteries of space, in order to discover Kryptonite to use against Superman.
Tyson is no stranger to the camera. He starred in 'Cosmos' on FOX, and he's been Stephen Colbert's guest multiple times. He's going to knock this out of the park.
Why do you think Wonder Woman got involved?
Wonder Woman jumps in to help defeat the big bad partly because she wants to protect the humans, and partly because the boys seem to be mucking things up. Wonder Woman has always had a soft spot in her heart for humans. When she sees they're in danger, she steps up to protect them.
Oh, as to who would win? C'mon, really? Superman! He's indestructible, super strong, super fast and shoots lasers from his eyes! Batman has... gadgets.
We'll have answers to these questions and more on March 25, when 'Batman v Superman' premieres. Bring on the popcorn!
