Horrific news struck the The Maze Runner and Teen Wolf fandom and all Dylan O’Brien fans, after learning that Dylan had been severely injured while filming the final installment in the Maze Runner movie trilogy. The Death Cure.

Let me start with the good news. As James Dashner, the author of The Maze Runner books said while he reassured fans, Dylan O'Brien is going to be okay!

Dylan O’Brien, the 24 year old star of 20th Century Fox’s Maze Runner Movie franchise, was injured on the set of The Death Cure on March 17th in Vancouver, British Columbia while filming a stunt. Dylan fell from a vehicle while filming a stunt, he was yanked to the ground by his own safety vehicle and dragged under it, causing multiple injuries and facial lacerations. He also hit his head and suffered from a concussion. He broke 3 bones in his face and had to undergo surgery. He was rushed to the hospital immediately after.

The official report reads "An action sequence was being filmed for a motion picture. This young worker was attached to a vehicle by a harness, lanyard and overhead truss system when he climbed onto the back of another vehicle, as the vehicles slowed, the trailing vehicle the worker was anchored to slowed more rapidly than the vehicle the worker climbed onto."

An insider at Teen Wolf News claims: "Dylan was yanked to the ground by his own safety vehicle and dragged under it."

This picture was taken on the set of the Death Cure, it is quite possibly the scene where Dylan's accident happened.

Fox released an official statement to the press soon after Dylan's accident.

“Dylan O’Brien was injured yesterday while filming Maze Runner: The Death Cure in Vancouver, Canada. He was immediately transferred to a local hospital for observation and treatment. Production on the film will be shut down while he recovers. Our thoughts go out to Dylan for a full and speedy recovery.”

Wes Ball, Director of The Maze Runner movies shared an update about the situation.

The dark cloud seems to have passed as it turns out Dylan is in recovery. His publicist, Jennifer Allen, said his prognosis was good and things are looking up. You can breathe easy guys, Dylan is gonna make a full recovery!

It's been really touching how many people have been concerned about Dylan O'Brien after being injured on the movie set, and I assure you he is okay, he's definitely hurt, but he's laughing and joking and recovering and he's going to be just fine. He kinda banged up his face, but he will still be pretty, don't worry. And even on the day he was hurt he was joking and laughing and you know how Dylan is. He's tough and has a great sense of humor, He will probably start filming again, maybe in a couple of months. -

Although he is still gonna need some time to rest and recuperate before he can get back on his feet and into character. The production of The Death Cure has been shut down while he recovers, but don't worry TMR fans, we will still be seeing the final chapter come to life just as scheduled.

Dylan's dedication to his craft, in filming Death Cure and all his other projects is admirable really. Especially considering he's starring in both a film franchise and the hit TV series Teen Wolf.

The love and support for Dylan and his family is pouring in all through social media and started trending worldwide. Thanks to the millions of loving fans who are all hoping for the best for Dylan. Fans from all over the world around the world are hoping and praying Dylan will be alright.

Dylan's Maze Runner cast mates have posted some really beautiful and moving messages on Instagram.

Apart from just his fellow cast members and friends, Actors from all kinds of different shows and movies have tweeted showing their love and support for Dylan.
