So we all are well aware that May of 2018 and May 2019 are some pretty heavy hitters, why? Thanos of Titan gains all infinity stones and activates the legendary Infinity Gauntlet, an item of devestating power that is capable of wiping out half a universe of life without really even trying. There has been speculation that there will be a gigantic clash between the heroes and the mad titan, but there's also been rumors that there are characters that will indeed perish during the war. (Let's face it, it's bound to happen otherwise it wouldn't necessarily be a war unless there's casualties.) Now, it is rumored that individuals that will fall, but what about those that could return? What of Red Skull? How about Ronan the Accuser? Quicksilver? The biggest question is if they will return, how exactly will they return and it make sense? Well there could be plausible explanations on having some dead seemingly dead characters return.
#1 The Red Skull
Johann Schmidt, also known as Captain America's greatest rival known only as The Red Skull. As we've seen in Captain America: The First Avenger, Johann Schmidt met his ultimate end by his own arrogance in thinking he can control the immense power of The tesseract, though in reality it was the space stone, one of the infinity stones. There has been rumors and speculation that Red Skull isn't dead, there are others that believe he is dead. How can Red Skull make a return and it be plausible? There is one good way of explaining how he could make a comeback. The best one is he wasn't actually killed off, instead he was merely transported into the stars far far away from Earth. With the space stone, it allows the user to exist in any or all locations, move any object anywhere throughout reality and warp or rearrange space. At full potential it grants Omnipresence, so it's not hard to believe that in Johann's moment of power hunger, he merely teleported himself to another location that may or may not even be on Earth.
#2 Ronan The Accuser
As seen in Guardians of the Galaxy, Ronan met his untimely end by a blast from The Power stone, another one of the infinity stones. Some say Ronan is dead, others say he is not, but what's the best way to say he's not dead for good? It's very possible that with Ronan wielding the stone in his weapon for such a prolonged amount of time, he had a little taste of this immense power which was partially stained in him and he wasn't vaporized from the blast, but merely siphoned into the stone itself. The power stone gives access to all power and energy that ever has or will exist, and can boost the other gems' effects. It also allows the user to duplicate almost any physical superhuman ability and grants nigh Omnipotence. It also grants the possessor the potential to manipulate all forms of energy for virtually any effectRonan plays a pretty strong role within the marvel universe comics wise, thus just giving him a moment of screen time and giving him an end without any kinds of impact would be somewhat a waste. Perhaps Ronan is just buying his time as he realizes he is trapped inside of the stone and the only way of freedom is from the will of Thanos once he gets his hands on all stones.
As most people were practically expecting, hoping, or just outright not surprised about, Pietro met his end at the hands of Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron. While it is confirmed that Pietro is dead, there's still a possibility that he could make a return, but instead of one way, there's actually two ways that he could make a return. One plausible explanation is Thanos recruits a team to do his bidding once he gains all stones for his gauntlet, but how can he get Quicksilver to join him if he's dead? One good thought would be by hands of The soul gem itself in the hands of Thanos. The soul gem allows the user to steal, control, manipulate and alter souls, living or dead, and is the gateway to an idyllic pocket universe that is much like heaven. It also has the ability to steal the powers and abilities of others. Thanos can more than likely throw the Avengers off their game once he revives and turns one of their own against him by his own will.
Another good way is to perhaps not to really even bring him back to life, but use him as an illusion, but how can that happen? Let's introduce The reality stone, yet another one of the multiple infinity stones. The reality stone grants the user the ability to fulfill wishes, even if the wish is in direct contradiction with scientific laws. Occasionally stated to be the most powerful of the Gems if wielded without the other Gems to keep its reality-altering powers from accidentally surging out of control. Thanos can try and give temptation to the other heroes (or more so Scarlet Witch) by promising that he could easily bring Pietro back from the dead, thought it's a ruse and he has no intentions of doing such a thing or perhaps he could create a massive illusion of Pietro never dying in the first place and put them in an altered reality, but it is not actually real.
Do you agree that all of these are possibilities that could occur at some point in the future?
