When they aren't being dropped into the depths of the ocean or being transferred to an alien planet, S.H.I.E.L.D's resident lab rats Leopold Fitz and Jemma Simmons, are finding new ways of putting themselves in danger. Now, with the help of some new friends, they have taken on a new mission.

Going back to the light and easy-going times, the duo have now been turned into animated characters and have made their way to Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man vs. The Sinister 6 on Disney XD.

Iain De Caestecker and Elizabeth Henstridge lent their voices to an episode, titled “Lizards,” which aired on March 13th.

Due to Vulture’s revelation that Doc Ock has a spy inside the SHIELD Academy, the Web Warriors decide to search for the mole. When they confront Dr. Curt Connors, he seemingly turns himself into The Lizard and attacks SHIELD with a venomous bite that spreads like a virus, also turning its victims into lizards.

The couple aren't the only ones to make the crossover to Ultimate Spider-Man, Clark Gregg has played Agent Coulson in 29 episodes of the series, which sees Spider-Man (Drake Bell) being trained by S.H.I.E.L.D. and battling evil with a new team of teen colleagues.

Just going to put this out into the universe, but how about a FitzSimmons animated series? A prequel series that shows us how they became the best friends we saw in the beginning of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D would be great! It would take us back to the adorable, light characters they were early on.

Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man Vs. The Sinister 6 airs Sundays on Disney XD and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs Tuesday on ABC.

I have wanted to watch the animated Spider-Man series but haven't got around to it yet. After hearing this, I think I'll have to put it higher on my list!

Would you watch a Fitzsimmons animated series?
