Jeremy Renner is one the most talented actors working in the industry today. If you haven't seen his performance in The Town, then please go watch it. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe he plays the purple archer known as Hawkeye. He's not necessarily a fan-favorite, but he is a vital part of The Avengers. Let's hear what he had to say at Silicon Valley Comic Con about a Hawkeye Series on Netflix:
"I think that’s actually a really great model, if there’s ever a way to explore the character, maybe it’s in that world. These are things that are really not in my control, but I’d be open to it. I’ve really enjoyed getting to explore the character more recently. The Netflix model is where all the character drama goes to now, you’re doing a superhero movie or a Netflix or HBO kind of model. So I’d be open to it. Not up to me, though.”
He is definitely right and I would love to see a Hawkeye Series on Netflix also. I think it would be a perfect avenue to truly discover what makes Hawkeye tick. They could set the story pre-Avengers and show us how awesome he really is as an assassin. Just take one look at Daredevil Season 2 and you can understand why it would be a perfect fit Clint Barton!
Let's Take A Look At Daredevil
I'm almost done with Season 2 and I must say it's better than what I expected. The Punisher is beyond brutal and Elektra is every bit the sociopath as promised. Matty is showing the reason why Daredevil is the closest thing Marvel has to Batman. I can see Hawkeye owning this world. He'll fit in perfectly at Hell's Kitchen fighting The Hand. It's weird to see him on the big screen fighting aliens and evil robots with a bow. He would be one of the most dangerous people to inhibit this world, and I think a character as awesome as Clint Barton deserves something more. Sadly, this probably won't ever happen, but it's fun to talk about!
