Well guys I am back, after six months I might add. I have been incredibly busy with college and it seems as though college life has taken a pretty big toll on me. But enough with the nonsense, let’s talk Daredevil. Oh, and MAJOR SPOLERS ahead.
So, I am pretty sure a lot of you have binged through this. It's been a pretty amazing season of Daredevil and I cannot wait to see where they will go next. So with all that said here are 10 unforgettable moments from Season 2 of Daredevil.
10 - Stairwell Fight
We all knew it was coming, and boy did it come with a bang. The fight was incredible. The cinematography, lighting, choreography were all perfect. With the chains used to destroy the lights for more advantage and the gun used for punching. You cannot deny a LOT more work went into this and it was pretty sweet to look at.
9 – Pawn Shop Scene
The scene that finally introduced us to who the Punisher was as a person. While the first episode technically introduced him, it was this scene that gave us an idea of who the character really was, a vengeful killer. It was intense, disturbing and brutally satisfying in all the right ways.
8 – Nobu’s Reveal
I certainly had no idea Nobu was coming back this season, and while I have no idea exactly how he survived, I loved his response when Daredevil tells him that he was dead. “There is no such thing”, what a chilling response indeed. While he certainly wasn’t the best foe this season, he was a pretty solid one for Daredevil, at least in terms of physical confrontation
7 - Matt and Elektra
I honestly have no idea which scene in particular to pick, because there are just so damn many, but if I had to choose one, it would be the final confrontation between them and Nobu. It ended tragically for Elektra, and I was hoping they wouldn’t kill her off so soon, but it happened and it was quite sad. It was a great relationship that was explored and her final moments with Matt were touching. Another contender would be the flashback scene where Elektra tried to get Matt to kill the man who murdered his father. It was an intense scene and it showcased Elektra as a sociopath.
6 – The Return of Wilson Fisk
Man, I was so hoping for him to come back this season, and I am glad that he did. It was perfect and Vincent D’Onofrio was too. We got to see what his life was like after being arrested and we got to see him make a deal with The Punisher and see him go head to head with him. What a terrific villain indeed. It didn’t feel shoehorned and was relevant to the story. Another brief mention I need to make is that of Madame Gao, it was great seeing her too, if only for one scene . Also, can I just call that these guys are so going to do the ‘Born Again’ storyline next.
5 – Matt saving Stick
Stick was one of my favourite characters from last season and I was glad that he played a more prominent role this time around. Matt saving Stick from the hands of The Hand (sorry for intentional pun) was a great moment, especially after Stick admitted that he was proud of Matt. It was a touching scene that just showed that he really cared for Matt in his own Stick like way. Also, it was cool how he instructed Matt to listen to the exhale’s of the ninjas, AWESOME!!
4 – The Punisher’s Hallway Fight
Well, I guess we have one for him now and man was it brutal and satisfying. After his deal with Wilson Fisk, the man was inevitably betrayed by him. As pissed as I may have been that that happened, we can all agree, it led to a pretty epic sequence that clearly took a lot of inspiration from The Raid hallway fight (especially with the stabbing).
3 – Daredevil and The Punisher have a talk
With Daredevil in chains for most of the episode, we got to see he and The Punisher talk it out with their ideology, it was well written and both sides had decent points and let’s not forget, it led to the Stairwell Fight.
2 – Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson defending the Punisher in court
While we never got to see Matt and Foggy much in court last season, I was pretty happy we got to see them here. This lead to some pretty cool scenes where the lawyers made fair points in a case that was pretty much a lost cause in the first place. If only The Punisher didn’t lash out every now and then.
1 – Frank Castle’s Monologue at the cemetery
After Daredevil rescued the Punisher from an Irish mob boss, it was pretty evident that he was going to give him up to the police, but not before sitting down and listening to Frank’s heart breaking story about his life as a marine and as a father. It was touching, unnerving, intense and beautifully executed. Certainly one of the best scenes in recent TV.
So, those were my favorite moments from Season 2 of Daredevil. Man, what a season it has been, I had a hell of a time binge watching these episodes. So, tell me
