King of cameos and godfather to Marvel Comics, Stan Lee is no stranger to popping up all over the super universe in various bit parts. Crowing R-rated box office smasher Deadpool as his favorite cameo to date, Lee has just revealed his least favorite — can you guess what it is?
Talking to Silicon Valley Comic Con this Sunday, Lee referred to his heroic bit part in Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire's 2002 Spider-Man as the cameo he liked the least. He said,
"My least favorite cameo was like the second one I ever did. It was a Spider-Man movie."
In the movie Lee can be seen saving a young girl from debris caused by the Green Goblin's attack at the World Unity Fair. Scroll to 1:06 in the clip below to see him in action:
"Everybody is looking up going 'ooh,' and I'm one of the guys looking up going 'ooh' ...for one-second. And I resented that because it didn't give me a chance to show the full power of all my acting... I had a long talk with the director after that. He apologized, of course. I think in the next one [Spider-Man 2 (2004)] I was looking at another accident and they gave me another second to go 'ooh' like that."
Of course he means it all in good humor, reassuring the audience that all his cameos were a lot of fun:
"Seriously, I don't have any non-favorite cameos. It's just such fun to be there."
