Joe Russo was recently speaking to Empire magazine when he said a strange statement, in that Civil War is a "love story". He went on to say, "What’s fascinating about the Cap-Bucky story as well is it’s a love story," But not in the way of partners in love but partners in heroics, "These are two guys who grew up together, and so they have that same emotional connection to each other as brothers would, and even more so because Bucky was all Steve had growing up."

The pair have had their differences in the past (Winter Soldier) but through no fault of Bucky Barnes as he was used as a emotion-less soldier who carried out crimes unknowingly. It will be interesting to see Bucky as himself in Civil War with Steve Rogers, his lifelong buddy. He has a lot of crimes to answer for and Cap is a guy who takes the law very seriously. That dynamic makes for a very interesting angle for the pair in the upcoming Marvel, "love story".

It will also be very interesting to see how Steve reacts when he confronts Bucky that he basically left him when they were young men. Joe reiterated, that Bucky was "the father figure or older brother so to speak, and then left him behind."

What do you think will happen? Captain America: Civil War opens April 28th and we have a lot of time to speculate until then! In the meantime, we have Batman v Superman to fill our comic-movie hunger! Check out the Civil War trailer below to refresh all it's glory.
