Could this election be getting any crazier? Both parties are split, Democrats are choosing between Senator Bernie Sanders and former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, while Republicans are trying to decide between businessman Donald Trump, Senator Ted Cruz, and Governor John Kasich. While many celebrities have stated they would like to run for the big chair, one actor is being called upon by the people to fill the shoes and that man is:

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

Now before you say: "No way, a wrestler/actor could never be a politician, let alone the President of the United States!" let me remind you of the precedents already set in place. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger made the transition from action movie hero to full-time Californian politician, wrestler Jesse Ventura served as governor of Minnesota from 1999 until 2003, and one of the most well liked Presidents in recent history started his career as an actor: Ronald Reagan.

Now, as to his credentials and capabilities leading this great nation, let's look at some of the notable things he has achieved outside of his acting/wrestling career:

  • Received Horizon Award
  • Founded the Dwayne Johnson Rock Foundation
  • Set a Guinness World Record
  • Was invited to both the 2000 Republican and 2000 Democratic Conventions
  • Gave a speech at the 2000 Republican Party Convention

Just based on that list, you might still have some questions. What exactly is a Horizon Award? Well the Joint Leadership of the United States Congress and the Congressional Award Board of Directors describes the special recognition award as:

The Horizon Award is presented to individuals from the private sector who have contributed to expanding opportunities for all Americans through their own personal contributions, and who have set exceptional examples for young people through their successes in life.

Further more, the Foundation that The Rock founded is a charity that works for at-risk and terminally ill children, an organization to which he donates much of his personal time. The man has a heart of gold and not only donates millions of dollars every year to various charities, but also his valuable time to improving the lives of others.

Where does he stand on important issues?

Dwayne is not a politician, so his exact stances on issues are difficult to gauge. However, according to the folks behind the movement, Dwayne would stand for individual liberty, free enterprise, an emphasis on job creation, better education, more access to health care, a renewed emphasis on civil rights, economic growth, a strong military, and gaining back the respect America deserves.

Why vote 'The Rock' into office?

He embodies the American Dream: "Through his upbringing in multiple states in an immigrant family, his experience as a football player, world champion wrestler, and superstar actor, and extensive travels as a major international superstar, he has seen the nation and the world, experienced a variety of cultures, and gained global credibility while maintaining his reputation as a freedom-loving, American patriot." - via

He has also expressed some interest in the job before, looking at it as a way to “impact the world through politics” and he said he “can become president.” He takes the greatest aspects of our favorite leaders and brings them together in harmonious bliss. And he has cross party appeal; finally a candidate that would be able to bridge the gap between Republicans and Democrats.

What should I do next?

The next step to get Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson into office is to take action! His name has been floating around for the position as early as 2000, but I think now is the year!
