It's hard being Justin Bieber.

The 22-year-old singer took to Instagram on Tuesday to announce that he's canceling all meet and greets with fans because they leave him feeling "exhausted to the point of depression."

He wrote:

Love u guys.. I'm going to be canceling my meet and greets. I enjoy meeting such incredible people but I end up feeling so drained and filled with so much of other people's spiritual energy that I end up so drained and unhappy.. Want to make people smile and happy but not at my expense and I always leave feeling mentally and emotionally exhausted to the point of depression.

Opting to concentrate on the quality of his performance rather than spend some time with the Beliebers who've enabled his fame, he continued to write that he doesn't mean to disappoint fans but these things have been rather "hard" on him. Aww.

The pressure of meeting people's expectations of what I'm supposed to be is so much for me to handle and a lot on my shoulders. Never want to disappoint but I feel I would rather give you guys the show and my albums as promised. Can't tell you how sorry I am, and wish it wasn't so hard on me.. And I want to stay in the healthy mindset I'm in to give you the best show you have ever seen ;)

Here is the post:

Predictably his announcement was greeted with thousands of tear coated emoji's, I <3 you's and some epic disappointment, but mostly it seems fans are concerned for Biebs' mental stability and well-being.

However, seeing as Bieber's Purpose World Tour is still very much underway and his VIP meet and greets aren't exactly free, something tells me there might be some exceptions to be made or expensive refunds to be doled out. It's not the end of the world though, as Bette Midler once pointed out:

Do you think meet and greets are important for fans?
