Batman V Superman Dawn Of Justice will kick off things for the DCEU this weekend and its a glorious time. We know that this movie is set to pave the way for the Justice League as well. The Justice League in the DCEU is set to feature Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman. It's also confirmed that all these character will have their solo film and yes that includes Aquaman. We all know that Aquaman has been used as a punchline for many year in various medias. I mean to many he is just a guy who can talk to fish so they don't see why he should be in the likes of Superman and Wonder Woman.

However any comic book fan can tell you that Arthur Curry shouldn't be taken so lightly as he can do some serious damage. The DC Creative Officer Geoff Johns is one of the people responsible for Aquaman's reboot in the comics that established this. He took those jokes about Aquaman and crushed them making him a force to be reckoned with. Geoff Johns also recently in an interview with tells that the people who take Aquaman as a joke are in for a shocker once the solo Aquaman film rolls out.

It’s massive [seeing Aquaman on the big screen]. Jason [Momoa] and I were talking about Aquaman, and I love that people underestimate the character. I feel like hopefully we’ll be able to share the love that we have as readers of the character because the jokes about him are fun, but he’s got so much depth to him, no pun intended. It’s really great to see him finally on the big screen.

Jason Momoa is of course playing the live action Aquaman in the upcoming Justice League film and also solo Aquaman film. A casting choice in the likes of Momoa of course means this Aquaman will be a lot tougher and grittier than the one we are used to. We are also all fully aware the traditional Aquaman look has been changed to fit a lot more to the universe DC is building up.

We will have to wait and see exactly what Momoa brings to the table for Aquaman next year in Justice League Part One. I am excited for one to see the solo Aquaman film as well. I truly believe Momoa will shine in that movie and you also have James Wan lined up to direct which should be quite interesting.

Justice League Part One opens November 17, 2017

Aquaman opens July 27, 2018
