That's right, you read that correctly! Wonder Woman may be coming to Supergirl, but not in the way you think.
According to EW, executive producers Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti revealed they have plans to bring Lynda Carter, the original and best (sorry Gal) Wonder Woman, to the CBS super series.
“We had the perfect role for Lynda Carter,” Berlanti said, “We couldn’t work out her schedule. Next year.”
Kreisberg continued “We’re going to do it, we’ll just do it next year,” which prompted Berlanti to reveal her potential role: “All right, she’s the female president of the United States.”
To this day, Lynda Carter and her television series defines Wonder Woman, and the series itself continues in re-runs throughout the world. Wonder Woman '77, a digital comic series based on the series, is also currently available. Gal Gadot is set to take on the role in Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice.
This is the best news I've heard all day! Carter's contribution to Wonder Woman (and female superheroes in general) is legendary and we're glad that Berlanti and Kreisberg recognize it!
