This is starting to feel like the aftermath of Ronda Rousey losing to Holly Holm, or Connor Mcgregor tapping out to Nate Diaz. A sure thing, a guaranteed win, but the results were something else. The reviews are pouring in and Batman v Superman is getting hammered! This is a colossal debacle for DC films as BvS was to supposed to usher in the first true phase of DC movies.

Fans agree that Ben Affleck was excellent as Batman, Gal Gadot stole the show as Wonder Woman, and Henry Cavill is still a good Superman. What fans also agree on is how bad the film came together as a whole. It was a dish with the right ingredients but badly cooked. Now let's be clear, no one is saying that the movie was a total bust, it's just that it didn't deliver as the world expected. Imagine the worlds best soccer team ending a game in a tie with a mediocre squad.

So who is to blame for this situation? Unfortunately Zack Snyder- this is on you. There was concerns that Zack would do to BvS what he did to Man of Steel. A decent movie that just didn't hit the mark, and that's not the fanboys just saying it, it is fact. Batman v Superman seems to be headed down the same route. Not a bad movie, but not what fans expected as many left the theater pondering "what did we just see?" The movie was choppy with scenes jumping too quick causing an imbalance in the pace of the story. These "nightmares" that Bruce Wayne was experiencing also threw things off. The Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg cameos felt thrown in, and didn't do justice to the debuts of these characters.

In an attempt to turn things around, Zack Snyder is floating an R-rated "ultimate" version of the film leaving more fans dazed and confused about what he is doing here. Look, Zack Snyder is slated to direct both JLA movies coming up and with this 250 million dollar fumble, should Zack Snyder be allowed to continue directing DC films?

There is no question that he has the right cast, but like an NFL coach who has a pro-bowl offense that can't score points, should Zack Snyder stay on directing JLA? Is Geoff Johns and the rest of the DC bosses prepared for another debacle with JLA with Zack Snyder at the helm? The hard truths are staring right at us friends, and it is not pretty at all.
