Within the past few years it seems that Shonda Rhimes has made an incredible name for herself. I have never seen an episode of "Grey's Anatomy" or "Private Practice," but I have seen both "Scandal" and "How to Get Away with Murder." For the most part they are both phenomenal and it is crazy to try and wrap my head around the fact that Rhimes just keeps striking gold.
The newest television show that Rhimes plays a large in is "The Catch." Following private investigator, Alice Vaughan, played by Mireille Enos, who is one of the best of the best. The only problem is that her fiancé, Christopher Hall played by Peter Krause is a fraud.
Alice has been chasing a man that she has come to know as Mr. X for quite some time now and he is the only target who has ever been one step ahead of her. This is because Mr. X happens to be the man who sleeps on the other side of her bed every single night. While she may be one of the best at what she does, he's been good enough to keep himself out of her radar the entire time.
In episode one, Christopher finally steals what he needs to and then vanishes from Alice's life. Leaving absolutely not trace of DNA behind. This sends Alice into a mess and confused about how he's been able to get away with this right under her nose. Thus begins the chase, where Alice and her team collectively begin searching for Christopher.
There are some elements here that remind me of "How to Get Away with Murder," in the sense that I'm not sure how this story will stretch across the length of multiple seasons. Will the entire show really consist of this one chase? Or will it be concluded in season one and the next season will consist of a similar, but duller chase. Similar to "How to Get Away with Murder" I believe the first season will be fantastic, but the second season...
