Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice might be premiering this week — finally giving DC fans the chance to see the Holy Trinity all together on screen — but the cast and crew of Suicide Squad remain focused on their own upcoming movie.
Specifically, director David Ayer is continuing his campaign to prove that Jared Leto is going to be the best Joker we've ever seen. The other cast members have gotten in on this, too, claiming that Leto is so in character that he sends rats and dead pigs to the set.
Now, Ayer is reiterating his claim that we should really be looking forward to Leto's Joker because he's downright "fascinating."
Apparently, The Entire Crew Stops Working When Jared Leto Is Performing
In an interview with UK magazine Total Film (via the Tumblr DCVertigoDaily), Ayer couldn't speak highly enough of Leto's interpretation of the beloved villain:
“What Jared has done is absolutely incredible. When he steps onto the set the world stops. Everything stops. What he’s done is so powerful, so menacing, and so palpable, you can feel him. The crew stops working and just watches him. I have to get everybody going again because he’s so fascinating.”
World-stopping is just the latest praise being poured on Leto, and the hype is starting to take on a life of its own. We'll have to wait until Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5 to see if this Joker really steals the show amid a very talented cast.
