Not that we needed anymore proof that Daisy is the Jedi we've been searching for, but we got it!

In anticipation for the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Blu-Ray/DVD April 5th, Buzzfeed received exclusive access to THE moment J.J. Abrams knew Daisy Ridley was his Rey.

For one of Daisy's final auditions, she was asked to perform the scene between Rey and Kylo Ren when Kylo attempts to read her mind. She carries an emotional depth that is astounding even for an audition this important , and it could arguably be more moving than the actual scene in the film!

Abrams says of Daisy's audition in the video:

“What we were looking for was someone new, ” J.J. Abrams says in the clip. “This character needed to be vulnerable and tough, sweet and terrified. And to find someone that no one knew who could do all these things took a lot of looking.”
“It wasn’t until we found Daisy that we just felt like she was capable of doing all of these things this character required.”

Daisy put on a powerful performance in Star Wars: The Force Awakens as the orphan Jedi girl that Kylo Ren could not defeat. She and the cast were instant stars as Star Wars went on to gross over $2 billion worldwide!

Daisy talked about the grueling audition process she went through to land the coveted role of Rey, only to have to keep it quiet. The torture!

The Force Awakens is set for an April 1st digital HD release and an April 5th Blu-Rey/DVD release, which is sure to break as many records as the theatrical release.
