As we’re more than halfway through the second season of The Flash, we’ve been introduced to this season’s biggest threat to Barry Allen and practically everyone else that comes his way—Zoom!

He’s terrorized the lives of Team Flash, especially Harrison Wells by holding his daughter hostage. Here are a few reasons why he is the most terrifying villain in the DC world.

His facial appearance

I don’t know about you, but even looking at Zoom gives me major chills. The sewn up – no mouth mask is just too much to handle. Plus, his eyes pierce through your soul, and his voice is one that cannot be ignored.

He’s fast. Very fast.

He’s after Barry, of course! What villain doesn’t want Barry dead and gone? But with Zoom, it’s a little different. Instead of wanting Barry dead, he wants all of his speed, to suck him out dry and gain even more speed as if he doesn’t have plenty already, THEN use it against him to kill him. It’s insane. Look at the way he even dodges the constant bullets fired at him. Nice try, officers. But try again.

Never forget the way Zoom dragged Barry across the city in Barry’s weakest moment.

That was by far one of the most heartbreaking moments of Season 2 thus far. Earlier in the season, Zoom gave Flash a little taste of what it was like fighting against him, only to completely humiliate him in front of all of Central City. He dragged him more, hmm more like speeded him through the city with his vicious self. Poor Barry could only take so much, he was pretty much unconscious. He was then left with not being able to feel his legs at the end of that episode. Cue the The Weeknd’s version to “I can’t feel my face when I’m with you.” to “I can’t feel my legs, when I’m with Zoom”, much?

Zoom’s sense of holiday spirit is lacking. That doesn’t seem at all Merry to me, guys.

Did I mention the way he dragged Barry across Central City was absolutely NOT cool?

The Flash turned dark really quick after that moment. I may or may not have had nightmares that night.
