Cupid returns to Star City and begins targeting high profile couples. While the team works to track her whereabouts and prevent anymore killings, Laurel works in court fighting Damien Darhk's attempt to have the charges dismissed against him. After several failed attempts to find a suitable witness, Captain Lance volunteers to testify to his involvement with Darhk, despite Laurel's initial reservations. She tells him that his career and life would be put in jeopardy, but he tells her it would be worth it as long as Darhk is put away. The team confronts Cupid but she evades them after a chase and quick fight with Oliver. With Thea's knowledge of celebrity gossip they discover that she is targeting couples that have recently been married. In order to draw her out, Oliver convinces Felicity to stage a wedding and has Thea leak the information to Cupid. The plan works and she attacks Oliver and Felicity at the ceremony. Felicity distracts her long enough for Oliver,Diggle and Thea to apprehend Cupid. At trial, Captain Lance's testimony is deemed sufficient to establish probable cause for the charges and Darhk is taken into custody without bail. Captain Lance is suspended pending an investigation, while Felicity quits the team. In flashbacks, Oliver leads Reiter to a mystical idol, but steals it and runs off into the tunnels with Taiana. Darhk is shown in his jail cell smiling as he removes a ring he had hidden in his mouth.
Team Arrow were definitely off their game this episode. After that epic battle with Darhk with some help from Vixen, they could barely manage to keep up with Cupid. Check out these notable scenes.
Carrie Cutter/Cupid: She is back with a vengeance! After having her heart broken twice, she's come back to kill people who are in love. The only thing that confuses us about the character is how she is able to handle Team Arrow on her own.
Team Arrow- There was something way off with them this episode. It would be easier to say that this had everything to do with the whole Olicity break up, but they were getting their asses kicked the entire time. Both in the court room and out keeping the city safe. They need to get their act together especially since Project Genesis is in it's final stages. Also with Felicity leaving the team, they're going to have to pick up someone to be the brains behind the operation. We have the perfect candidate.
Team Arrow vs Darhk- Having Diggle testify against him turned out horrible as Damien's lawyer was able to use Thea's past with drugs against them. Having Detective Lance take the stand proved to be more effective, with Darhk being sent to jail so that he could be put on trial. The way he looked at everyone was super unsettling. Even when they put the cuffs on him he was smiling, knowing that he would get back at every single one of them once he got out.
Oliver and Felicity- We are done with now and hopefully so are they. We get it. He's a hero. He lies, and he's going to have to keep things form those closest to him to protect them. She can't handle it, so it's best that she leave. Honestly, she confused throughout the whole episode. She wished to remain on the team despite her and Oliver breaking up, but then called it quits in the end.
Oliver,Thea and and Diggle- With Laurel fighting Darhk in court, the trio were left to stop Cupid. After hearing about Oliver and Felicity breaking up they told Oliver to work things out with her. When he's feeling down, Diggle's always there to pick him up. He knew that Oliver was really hurting and told him to just give Felicity some time. Things didn't work out in the end though which is sad.
Oliver,Taiana and Reiter- He finally got what he wanted, but he said that he still needed Oliver around. Oliver said screw that and knocked Reiter on his ass and took the idol which seemed to have been powered by some form of life absolution.
Felicity and Cupid- Maybe this was to give her a moment of redemption since she spent most of the episode being so Season 3 Felicity. Apparently she got Cupid to think twice about her actions and got her to believe in love again. I guess we can give the credit to her.
Laurel and Lance- Laurel didn't want her dad to take the stand because she knew that he would have a big target painted on his back, ready for Damien should he able to get out. She tried to get immunity granted to him, but he was ultimately suspended. She better keep a close eye on him because our gut is telling us that Damien won't be in jail for long.
What's To Come/Theories:
Bug-eyed Bandit makes her appearance in next week's 'Beacon of Hope". The last we saw of her was when she gave Team Flash a sting in the butt with Ray Palmer helping them take her down. Oliver looks to have been stung by one of her bees which according to her are more powerful than before. After all the crap Oliver went through in this episode, he has this do deal with now. Also, Team Arrow asks some help from Curtis Holt, who we've been waiting to see more of. Hopefully the whole Olicity drama is done with, so that we can focus more on the story. Project Genesis still moves forward without Darhk and Malcolm seems to have taken control over the operation. Our guesses of who is in the grave is narrowed down to Captain Lance and Mama Smoak. A crazier theory would be Felicity in the grave and the Felicity Oliver is talking to in the car is a hallucination. We've seen Oliver talk to Shado when she wasn't even there, so it woudln't be impossible for the scene to play out like that.
While we did enjoy seeing Cupid back, the episode was an okay filler. The best scenes were probably the ones where the team tried to take the fight to Darhk in court. Damien is most likely going to get out of there soon and wreck havoc on Team Arrow, but how he is going to is the question. We just want to know who is going to be in the grave! We give this episode 8.7 Arrows out of 10. What did you think about 'Broken Arrow'? Leave it in the comments below, we'd love to read them!
