As a seasoned SNL alum and star/co-creator of IFC's Portlandia, it's a fact that Fred Armisen can play just about any character. Now, his skills are going to be put to the test as he lends his voice to a well-known cartoon villain.

Armisen has officially been cast as the voice of Krang — the warlord-turned-brain-like-form who pilots the human-shaped mechanical exo-suit — in the live-action TMNT sequel, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows, out this summer.

According to a report by IGN, the film's producers Bradley Fuller and Andrew Form officially announced the casting choice during their TMNT panel at WonderCon this weekend. And if you love any of Armisen's work, you'll be in for a treat:

"Anyone who loves Fred will love what he is doing."

We've gotten a good look at Krang's pink form in the trailers, but his voice has been shrouded in mystery up until this point.

Given his expertise in impersonations, I have no doubt that Armisen will wow us all.

'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows' will open on June 3.
