"Next time they shine your light in the sky, don't go to it. The Bat is dead. Bury it. Consider this mercy.

"Tell me. Do you bleed? You will."

Unfortunately, I missed the opening day, but I finally watched it today at the AVX in 3D. To be honest, I was a little skeptical. Ben Affleck as Batman? He's not a bad actor. In fact, I do happen to like him. But let's face it..Daredevil wasn't exactly a hit. Some will disagree, but I actually thought he did a great job. I always felt it was hard for anyone to fill Michael Keaton's shoes..but Ben, you did it!

As for Superman...what can I say? I'm a bit biased. He has a special place in my heart and has always been my favourite superhero. They couldn't have picked a better person (Henry Cavill), to play the hunky, red-caped man of steel. Although, if memory serves me well, wasn't Clark Kent geekier and a bit of a klutz?

As much as I liked the movie, there were some disappointments with character portrayal. Let's start with Lex Luthor. I appreciate that Zack Snyder tried to stay true to the original characters in the comic series, but Jesse Eisenberg could have toned it down on the eccentricism. Sorry, but he just didn't do it for me! He reminded me more of the Joker. Lex Luthor is supposed to be of genius-level intellect, a brilliant scientist and great business man. They needed someone who could play a more suave version.

Wonderwoman. My favourite heroine! I absolutely LOVED the fact that a typical A-list celebrity wasn't chosen for this role. For me, Gal Godot was the perfect choice. I kinda wish her character was more developed, but I know this was more of an introduction to the Amazonian.

Truth be told, I'm not a comic book reader. So I had absolutely no clue as to who Aquaman was and what his story is. I was expecting him to play a larger role in this movie, but was disappointed by his 10 second appearance. Guess I'll have to wait for Aquaman and Justice League to come out to see how everyone fits into the picture.

Okay..so here's the real kicker and spoiler. I literally gasped and dropped my jaw when Superman dies! WTF?! Did I miss something? Superman CAN'T die!! He's SUPERMAN! Like I said, I don't read comics and this was new information to me! This whole time I've gone 35 years believing Superman was invincible, unless exposed to kryptonite.

My hubby on the other hand, was a comic collector during his childhood years. He played daddy daycare with my two little boys, while I went out with my 10 year old daughter. I totally thought I'd spoil the story for him, but it turns out he already knew that and wasn't surprised at all.

Am I the only one that finds this ending shocking?

What did you think of movie? Love it? Hated it?
