We are officially into the DCEU with Batman V Superman making a staggering 400 million plus over the weekend at the box office. It's safe to say, despite the critics and negative reviews, that the DCEU is on it's way with a strong movie line up, including Aquaman, directed by James Wan and starring Jason Momoa as the King of Atlantis. We all know how much Aquaman has over the years become a sort of a joke to many people, including comic book fans. This is something that Momoa has addressed, and will hopefully be fixed once people see the solo Aquaman film. For, although he isn't that popular with the general population, many people know who he is and what his primary power is.

Yes, the King of Atlantis has the power to communicate with sea creatures, which often comes in handy for him. A lot of people joke about this, going so far as to mock him for being able to just talk to fish. I think you shouldn't underestimate this ability because he can communicate with any sea creature, even ones we might not know. This is something James Wan brought up with SlashFilm when discussing the movie and the world he is building:

There’s always something kind of cool about Aquaman still, the idea of creating a huge world that is on our planet. That’s the thing about Aquaman that’s cool is he’s not an alien, right? He’s from our planet and he’s from a society that we’re not privy to in the context of the story. Isn’t it crazy to think that we’ve explored space more than we have explored the depths of our ocean? That just fires up my imagination about potential sea monsters and cool creatures, that kind of stuff.

It seems that we might get to see some pretty extravagant sea creatures with James Wan exploring more of the depths of our ocean. I am really excited to see what kind of creatures they will come up with. The possibilities are not only endless for the creatures but also how this underwater world will look compared to ours. There are so many possibilities with Aquaman that I get excited more and more each day. I truly believe that, with James Wan in front of this franchise, we will get a faithful adaptation for the character.

The truth is Aquaman will be an insane thrill ride unlike anything we have seen from DCEU up until that point. I, for one, am on board for the awesomeness James Wan has prepared for us. At this point, we only know that Jason Momoa will be playing Aquaman and Amber Heard will play his Queen Mera. We can only wait and see as to who the main antagonist will be and the story-line they will pick up.
