(Warning - if you haven't yet seen Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, then mild SPOILERS related to a small, largely inconsequential cameo may be found below. Proceed with whatever level of mild caution that suggests is wise...)
Now, Aquaman may not be the most eagerly anticipated of DC's future superheroic projects (step forward Wonder Woman and Justice League), but that doesn't mean that it isn't practically overflowing with cinematic potential. After all, any movie that features Jason Momoa as a militant fish-king is clearly going to have something going for it. What's more, from the sounds of it...
'Aquaman' Might Just Be Set To Inherit a Character From 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'
It just might not be who you'd think.
Y'see, there's no word as of yet as to which of Aquaman's fellow Justice Leaguers might turn up in his solo movie, but it seems that a character you definitely didn't spot in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice may just have been confirmed. Specifically, the President of the United States of America, as played by Patrick Wilson.
The reason you didn't spot him in the movie, though? Well, that'd be because he doesn't actually appear on screen, instead simply popping up briefly on the other end of a phone line, ordering a very particular solution to the film's alien problem.
Come the release of Aquaman, though, we just might be set to see a whole lot more of Wilson's president. Y'see, Wilson has worked with the movie's director James Wan on a number of projects, including The Conjuring, Insidious and the forthcoming The Conjuring 2, which led ComingSoon.net to ask him whether or not we would also be seeing Wilson in Aquaman. Wan's response?
"You just might!"
Which, it seems, more-or-less confirms Wilson's appearance in Aquaman. The big question now? Could we be seeing him even sooner - perhaps even in next year's Justice League Part One? After all, he was in Zack Snyder's Watchmen too...
What do you reckon?
When do you think we'll see Patrick Wilson turn up in the DCEU?
