(Warning: theoretical SPOILERS for X-Men: Apocalypse - and other future X-Men movies - lie below. Proceed with whatever level of theoretical caution that suggests to you is wise...)

Now, with the interweb being the gloriously geeky place that it is, most superhero movie-related material doesn't take too long to be comprehensively analyzed and broken down into its nerdiest constituent elements. Show us all an image, and we will work out whether it's hiding an Easter Egg or plot hint. Throw a casting announcement in our collective direction, and we will work out exactly who the hell they're playing, and what it means for the film. Release a trailer, and we will find every last tease hidden within its running time.

Sometimes, though, that can take a little time. Which is why...

A Potentially Huge Cameo In The 'X-Men: Apocalypse' Trailer Has Only Just Been Spotted

Specifically, intrepid Redditor magneto44, might just have spotted a potentially franchise-altering cameo, right around the 0:59 mark.

Can you spot it? If not, then check out the kid circled just below, right at the bottom left of the image:

Specifically, the kid that looks an awful lot like this, who just so happens to be rocking a distinctive white streak in the middle of his hair...

...which, as fans of mid-'90s X-Men comic books will surely be jumping out of their seats to shout out right about now, suggests that...

Nate 'X-Man' Grey Might Just Be Turning Up In 'X-Men: Apocalypse'

He, after all, is far and away the most famous mutant with that particular hairstyle, and his comic book past is heavily linked to Apocalypse (he was artificially created during the Age of Apocalypse by Apocalypse's underling Mr. Sinister, who was attempting to create a perfect telepath and telekinetic using the genetic material of Jean Grey and Cyclops).

Soon after, Nate was inadvertently shunted to the main Marvel universe (because comic book sales), and became a hero in own right.

And, it seems, he might now get the chance to do the same in Fox's cinematic X-Universe. After all, depending on how things go down with Apocalypse, there might just be a whole lot of scope for exploring Nate's comic book storyline on screen.

Or, y'know, it might just be a 'blink and you'll miss it' nod to fans, much like the 'Nate Grey' we thought we saw back in X-Men: Days of Future Past...

...but either way: X-MAN!

What do you think, though?

Is that Nate 'X-Man' Grey in the X-Men: Apocalypse trailer?
