Since its launch in 2013, The Blacklist has become a hugely successful drama, so much so it was even broadcast in the illustrious post-Super Bowl slot last year.

Like all many great shows, producers have decided that more is needed, and are planning a potential spin-off for the NBC series. And, in exciting news, the catalyst will be X-Men actress Famke Janssen.

Soon To Be Introduced

The 51-year-old Dutch actress will be introduced into The Blacklist in the penultimate episode of the third season, with the final episode serving as a potential prelude, opening the door for her to spearhead the currently unnamed new project.

Two more stars of the parent series, Ryan Eggold and Edi Gathegi, will be joining Janssen, although as of yet no information on the plot has been released.

A Pretty Important List

The Blacklist follows former US Navy officer Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader), who hands himself in after becoming a high profile criminal. Yet there is a Twist; Reddington claims to own a list of the world's most dangerous criminals, and uses it as leverage to get away with his crimes.
