Just the other day, news spread like wildfire that we will be feasting on actor Grant Gustin in a major motion picture in the future. Yep, it appears that The Flash himself has landed a pretty hefty acting gig in upcoming indie film Krystal, joining industry greats such as Kathy Bates, Felicity Huffman and Nick Robinson. Read more about the epic project here.
Yet, while we are all very pleased for Grant, he's not the only actor in the past to make a smooth transition from TV to film. In fact, the following six talents did the same, shuffling over to the fast-paced life of Hollywood movies. Find out who below:
1. Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Much like Gustin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt also sparked off his successful movie career with an indie flick called Brick. Before that people didn't know him for much but that family sci-fi series 3rd Rock From The Sun.
2. Tom Hanks
Yep, even Tom Hanks started off in TV before becoming a superstar in Big in 1988. His name first started to circulate in entertainment circles when he was in series Bosom Buddies between 1980 to 1982.
3. Leonardo DiCaprio
Way before he became a bonafide babe in Titanic and stole all of our hearts in Rome + Juliet, young Leo was merely an actor making his big break in This Boy's Life (alongside Robert De Niro) after a lengthy stint on TV series Growing Pains. Here he is in action:
4. Shailene Woodley
Before she smashed box offices as the lead in Divergent, Shailene Woodley played the character of Amy Juergens in The Secret Life of the American Teenager between 2008 and 2013.
5. Michael B. Jordan
When he appeared on The Wire, everyone knew that Michael B. Jordan was destined for big things. A few years later, he stunned Sundance in Fruitvale Station and has never looked back since.
6. James Franco
Back in 1999 and 2000, James Franco was merely a character on Freaks and Geeks. Two years later though, he landed the role of Harry Osbourne in Spider-Man which catapulted him to A-list status and consequently, made him one of the biggest names in Hollywood.
