This is a follow-up article to my MCU villain ranking, which can be read HERE! For those who didn't read that one, you might want to go back and do that or else this one won't make as much sense. Just FYI, don't be surprised if some of these characters are not Avengers, because the Avengers have pretty slim pickings using my grading scale, which you can read more about by following the above link! Well, buckle your seat belts and let's jump into it!

5) Thor

Style: 8/10

Charisma: 6/10

Sense of Humor: 9/10

When your teammates treat your weapon like a toy...

I love Thor as a character. There, I said it. The god of thunder loses a couple style points because capes are completely impractical unless you're Batman, but he's not from around here so we can let him slide on that. As far as charisma, Thor is generally a barrel of fun, but when he grows serious, he's basically the biggest buzzkill since the Dark Knight. Thor's humor, even in the heat of conflict, is rarely bested, mostly because of his keen grasp of the obvious. One of my favorite lines comes from Thor: The Dark World when Thor encounters Sif fending off barbarian invaders. She claims to have the situation under control, and Thor, looking around at the devastation, asks, "Is that why everything's on fire?"

4) War Machine

Style: 10/10

Charisma: 5/10

Sense of Humor: 8/10

You have a big gun, but you are not *THE BIG GUN*.
You have a big gun, but you are not *THE BIG GUN*.

Let's just be honest. Rhodey's War Machine is basically what Tony Stark's Iron Man could be if he actually took his job seriously and had a cool-looking paint job on his suit. Rhodey shoots off one-liners like missiles and he's got a bristling armory that puts Tony's repulsors to shame. War Machine has a semiautomatic 9mm pistol, pump-action shotgun, high-powered machine gun, grenade launcher with interchangeable tear gas and smoke grenades, a six-barreled Gatling gun, and a missile capable of destroying a bunker inside of a bunker. Now, I'm no military expert, but something tells me a dude who's only got repulsors, a uni-beam, and a couple super, tiny anti-tank missiles would be heavily outgunned here. Rhodey's jokes are not always funny, but when he really tries, he can usually outdo Tony Stark.

3) Vision

Style: 8/10

Charisma: 9/10

Sense of Humor: 10/10

"I think you dropped this, Thor."
"I think you dropped this, Thor."

Okay, I'm going to get this off my chest right here and now. Vision's ugly. Yes, I understand that he's trying to be comic book authentic, but the garish color scheme was more off-putting than attractive in my opinion. As far as charisma, Vision's personality is pretty awesome, mostly because he's so pure and unsullied in a world marred by devastation and corruption. Vision also gets top marks for sense of humor, most of which he gets from his operating system being JARVIS.

2) JARVIS

Style: 9/10

Charisma: 9/10

Sense of Humor: 10/10

Siri, eat your heart out.
Siri, eat your heart out.

Okay, I'm going to say right up front that JARVIS is one of my favorite characters in the MCU. He's so much more than a glorified Siri. (Siri, incidentally, believes that he cheated off her "Intelligent Assistant" exam. I think she's just jealous.) JARVIS basically IS Iron Man, because without JARVIS, Tony Stark's armor is pretty much a metal statue. It's difficult to say how much "style" JARVIS has due to his lack of a physical form, but his panache and humor are on display for all to see. Leave it to Tony Stark to lose an argument to an artificial intelligence he himself created. My favorite JARVIS quip is probably "May I say how refreshing it is to finally see you on a video with your clothing on, sir."

1) Nick Fury

Style: 10/10

Charisma: 10/10

Sense of Humor: 10/10

"Hi, I'm Awesome, Director of SHIELD."
"Hi, I'm Awesome, Director of SHIELD."

I think we can all agree that Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury is the greatest character in the MCU. Literally everything about Nick Fury screams "I'm more awesome than you, and don't you forget it!" That eye patch, the biting sarcasm, that look of disapproval that can cause even Tony Stark to cower... seriously, what's not to love? But the greatest thing about Nick Fury?
