"The lightsabers were so good, oh my gosh" murmured John Boyega, awestruck at the mere memory of training for Star Wars: The Force Awakens in a newly released interview.

The hardcore preparation for action scenes like the epic lightsaber battles involved three months of coaching. Yahoo Movies released another peep into the behind-the-scenes footage of this marathon, teasing the bonus features of the Blu-Ray DVD that will be available on the April 5th, and they're awesome.

The 40-second clip gives us a glimpse of Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver and Boyega during practice in a plain gym or while filming without CGI. Boyega clashes what looks like a wooden lightsaber with a stormtrooper in wide-arcing sweeps that push the pair back and forth in a dramatic sparring sequence. He recalled:

“I remember we were on set, Adam’s in character, and I felt the added weight of the saber sometimes when he would get so intense.”

We also glimpse some acrobatics from Daisy as she spins with all the grace of Spider-Man several metres above the ground while harnessed on a climbing wall. She is VERY excited to speak about the lightsabers in the forthcoming footage:

“We’re allowed to talk about lightsaberrrs!”
