In case you missed it, last week Justin Bieber and his management team announced that he would no longer be meeting and greeting fans on his Purpose tour, and as you might expect, the Beliebers were pretty pissed about it.
None more so than the diehard fans who spent $2000 on a premium VIP package that promised them access to the Biebs himself backstage.
Despite the cancellation, fans were denied a refund unless they wanted to give up their concert tickets entirely which, let's be honest, is extremely unlikely for people willing to spend thousands of dollars just to get a selfie with the dude. But hold up! Photos from the VIP area have started to surface online and — is that Justin we see getting cosy with a fan?!
Oh no, wait. It's just a cardboard cutout. That's right, Bieber and his management's master plan to keep the fans quiet consists of a 5 ft 9 photo of him plastered onto a piece of cardboard. Smooth.
But guys seriously! Justin is just so drained from "other people's spiritual energy" that he's verging on depression; he simply doesn't have the strength to meet all of you. Unless you're a star like him, of course. Here he is meeting and greeting some of his more famous friends post-show.
To be fair, is meeting an expressionless, unresponsive replica of Bieber really that different from the real thing? Check out these photos from some of his previous backstage encounters with fans.
Are the Beliebers even missing out on anything? We'll let you decide on that one. And remember...
