Just a few days ago Warner Brothers released the deleted scene from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The 45 seconds clip entitled "communion" showed Lex Luthor receiving message from the Kryptonian Technology. The image showing us a glimpse of creature holding three boxes (mother box?).
Many would argue that the image is Steppenwolf, a member of Darkseid's Elite and the military leader of Apokolips. Another possibility is Darkseids father, Yuga Khan, the previous ruler before Darkseid.
In a recent interview with Empire, director Zack Snyder hinted out the presence of Darkseid in DC extended universe and New God's intentions. "Maybe he exists out there in the universe,"
"Maybe he's looking for something. Something that is against life?" He added. Many For DC fans, it's clearly that Snyder is teased the Anti-Life Equation, Darkseid's ultimate goal and possible New God's intentions.
As many fans try to speculate since BvS has showing several hints regarding Darkseid. I've summarized one theory that might be possible in my last article: https://moviepilot.com/posts/3838218
Regarding for what happened in the ending, Producer Deborah Snyder and Charles Roven, said that it was needed to make a ground reason, especially for Batman and the establishment of Justice League.
"It was always a plan, because there needed to be something that allows Bruce to have faith in humanity again and the fact that it comes from an alien that the sacrificed he made was for his adoptive planet," said Deborah Snyder. "I think it (The death of Superman) really hit home for Bruce. That was the original intention."
"We wanted to create undeniable reason for Bruce to go and look for all these meta-humans for any possible danger that might be coming. With Superman has been gone, then now there is undeniable reason. That might difficult if we have Superman around." Roven added.
With the Darkseid is around the corner, the world is indeed in a grave danger. Hopefully Bruce will gather all the Justice League members in time.
