With all of the '90s and 2000s nostalgia surging back — like MTV Classic — we can't seem to get away from revisiting the things us '90s kids loved as children. Whether it was Nickelodeon, Disney Channel, Lisa Frank, or MTV, we seem to all have something to revisit in the year 2016 and why should Disney Channel movies be any different?
With the somewhat recent announcement of Hulu acquiring the rights to air up to 20 Disney Channel Original movies, I figured why not look at some of these childhood classics. Not only will we look at them, but we will be reminded of some famous celebrities who starred in them long before their big breaks. Although not every movie on this list is a Disney Channel Original, all of these movies did air at some point on the Disney Channel and I can guarantee we've all seen them at least once. I would also imagine we've also forgotten about the now famous stars that were in them. Cue the intro:
15. Kaley Cuoco — Alley Cats Strike (2000)
Years before Cuoco was nerding it up on Big Bang Theory, she starred in this 2000 Disney Channel Original movie. Although she had small TV roles prior to Alley Cats Strike, it served as her first starring role.
14. Camilla Belle — Rip Girls (2000)
Belle got her first leading role in this 2000 Disney Channel film years before starring in 10,000 BC and When a Stranger Calls.
13. Bryan Cranston — Twas The Night (2001)
Shortly after the start of Malcolm in the Middle, the future Walter White starred as a bad Santa Claus in this 2001 Disney Channel original movie.
12. Jared Padalecki / Mischa Barton — A Ring Of Endless Light (2002)
Disney Channel adapted this film from the Madeline L'Engle novel in 2002. I bet you don't remember that the future star of The O.C., Mischa Barton, and Supernatural star, Jared Padalecki, starred in the film.
10. Erika Christensen — Can Of Worms (1999)
Before starring in Swimfan and Parenthood, Christensen was in one of the first Disney Channel Original movies about extraterrestrials.
9. America Ferrera — Gotta Kick It Up (2002)
You probably recognize her from Ugly Betty, but long before she was a television star she was your average high school cheerleader.
8. Justin Timberlake — Model Behavior (2000)
Although he was already a teen heartthrob for being part of the singing group, *Nsync, Timberlake began testing his acting chops in this 2000 Disney film.
7. Emmy Rossum — Genius (1999)
Just a few years before wowing audiences in The Phantom of the Opera, Rossum starred in this 1999 Disney Channel original movie about a boy genius living a double life.
6. Alison Pill — The Other Me (2000)
She's since made a name for herself on HBO's The Newsroom, as well as Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and Goon, but one of her first roles was playing Andrew Lawrence's older sister in this 2000 Disney offering.
5. Hayden Panettiere — Tiger Cruise (2004)
She was already recognizable from starring in the 2000 Disney film, Remember the Titans, but she returned to Disney in 2002 with Tiger Cruise.
4. Katherine Heigl — Wish Upon a Star (1996)
Heigl starred in this body-swap film alongside well-known horror scream queen, Danielle Harris. She had some smaller roles under her belt by 1996, but this was her first leading role. And despite what you might think, Wish Upon a Star was not a Disney Channel Original.
3. Kat Dennings — The Scream Team (2002)
Dennings serves as somewhat of the comic relief in the Thor films, but before she was famous with her own TV show, 2 Broke Girls, she starred as the ghost-fighting Claire Carlyle in this 2002 film.
2. Katey Sagal — Smart House (1999)
We all know her from Married... With Children and Sons of Anarchy, but before hitting it big again with shows like Futurama, she starred in this Disney Channel Original movie about a futuristic house.
1. Kristen Stewart — The Thirteenth Year (1999)
Being the "water fountain girl" served as Stewart's first on-screen role, although she was uncredited, in this Disney Channel Original movie about a mermaid. Seriously, blink and you might miss her.
Ryan Merriman — The Luck of the Irish, Smart House, A Ring of Endless Light
Brenda Song — Get a Clue, The Ultimate Christmas Present, Stuck in the Suburbs
Bug Hall — Get a Clue, Safety Patrol
Shia LaBeouf — Tru Confessions, The Even Stevens Movie
Frankie Muniz — Miracle in Lane 2
Kevin Connolly — Up, Up, and Away
Sarah Gadon — Cadet Kelly
Brie Larson — Right on Track
