Athletic brand LuluLemon may have to don something more than yoga pants to cover their ass after this mistake. They've almost pulled a muscle apologizing for implying on Twitter that Beyonce copied their brand when she introduced her own line of athletic wear, Ivy Park.
Check out the promo video that Ivy Park released on YouTube yesterday:
One Lemon Lover innocently asked whether Ivy Park was supposed to be like LuluLemon, and the yoga magnate couldn't resist the opportunity to make an ill-timed Beyonce pun.
"They do say imitation is the best form of flattery. Maybe Beyonce is so Crazy In Love with our brand, she made her own."
One member of the Bey Hive stung LuluLemon, and the brand got a little sour. The tweets have since been deleted, but here is the original text:
March 31, 2016
Fan (@amandaacastlee): "Lululemon about to go bankrupt cause Beyonce [sic] released an active wear line #gamechanger."
LuluLemon: "@amandaacastlee We don't plan to bow down to the Queen B when it comes to workout gear, but you know we're going to keep buying her albums."
Oh, honey. No.
LuluLemon has since removed both of the tart tweets, as a result of profuse attacks from a swarm of killer Bey fans.
However, that has not stopped the hive from descending:
Ever classy and beyond reproach, Queen Bey has not broken her 3-year Twitter silence to comment.
