California Babysitter Being Held on $1 Million Bail Following Death of 5-Year-Old Boy
30-year-old babysitter is facing child cruelty charges in California where she is suspected of assaulting a 5-month-old boy who died four days after police found him unresponsive, PEOPLE confirms.
Brittany Ingrassi, a resident of Lancaster, California, allegedly battered Aiden Lopez around the head and chest on March 22, causing visible trauma and bruising, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Ingrassi is being held on $1 billion bail, and additional charges will likely be filed, the statement claims.
Aiden died early Saturday morning from his injuries.

Ingrassi, according to police, is a long-time friend of the baby's father, and had been tasked with minding the child at the time of her alleged crime.
