Hi there! You have probably read a ton of reviews on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Well, here's another one! If you don't want any spoilers, I highly recommend to leave this article.
So you're still here? Are you sure you want a lot of spoilers? I mean, I'll be talking about the movie and the actors and such... Really a lot of spoilers. Alrighty then! Let's get started.
The movie starts with a monologue by Bruce Wayne while we arrive on the funeral of Thomas and Martha Wayne. In the first scene of the movie, we get to see the Wayne's murder (again!)
However, this time we get to feel what Bruce felt that day. I believe that kid did a good job.
For the rest of the movie, I believe it was a job well done! I absolutely loved the movie as a die hard comicbook fan. Although, I understand why there are some negative reviews. For me, it was very easy to fully know what was going on. But I don't think the average moviegoer was able to understand what the hell was going on or to know what everything or who everyone was. I mean, okay, everyone has heard about the trinity. But not all average people know Doomsday.
The Batman and Superman fight.
This was one thing were fans have been waiting for. The fight between the two most iconic heroes in the world of Comics on the big screen. Snyder is known for his action scenes, right? Well, he deserves it. The fight was badass. It wasn't the fight that was ove rin like two seconds.. (Sorry, fanboys.) No, it was the fight we deserve. We saw Batman winning, we saw Superman winning, etc.. They both took hits and they both got their asses kicked by one another. Untill the moment came Martha was mentioned. That scene was the moment the friendship came in. It was boiling, just waiting to get served.
The Doomsday Fight.
It was a fun way to introduce Wonder Woman to the world. I have to be honest that I got goosebumps when I saw the Trinity together, standing there and ready to fight Doomsday. I won't go any further than this. You've probably seen the movie with what I already wrote.
The actors/ performances.
Henry Cavill (Clark Kent/ Superman): The Superman that we saw was a bit different than the one we saw in MoS (Man of Steel). The performance of Henry were on point again. However, he was still using that weird face every now and then. Anyway, Superman was still 'evolving' in this movie. He was trying to find his place on Earth. He knew what he had done. He knew he had to make things right and be the superhero Metropolis deserves.
Amy Adams (Lois Lane): I think we saw some improvement there! The Lois that we have seen in BvS is the one we know and love from the comics. I have to be realistic and see that it still needs time. Just like Henry Cavill. But her performance was on fire.
Ben Affleck (Bruce Wayne/ Batman): To begin with, can we all agree that Ben's take on the Dark Knight was the best one we've seen so far? Great. Now, I think I've said it all, no? Of course not! The Bruce Wayne/ Batman we saw was scarred, older. He has faced off dozens of villains, lost a few allies, etc... I think Snyder did a great job with taking The Dark Knight Returns as inspiration for the movie/ Batman. Ben Affleck was just the perfect man to serve the role of Batman some Justice.
Jeremy Irons (Alfred Pennyworth): Now, I'm a HUGE Alfred fan. I absolutely adored the version in this movie. He was sarcastic, wise and he has the looks. He was the /perfect/ Alfred in my point of view. We saw the Bruce-Alfred relationship we all know and love.
Jesse Eissenberg (Lex Luthor): We got a Lex that was psychotic, crazy and slightly annoying. But hey, you don't hear me complaining. I think Jesse did a good job. If he didn't pitch his voice that much, it would've been great.
Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman): The first time we see the Amazonian Princess on the big screen! Fanboy moment right there! She did a tremendous job (although she didn't get a lot of screentime.) For one, I believe those hate she got before the movie wasn't right. Her breasts are perfect (Just mentioning this because they hated on her breasts... Nothing pervert here.) and there was not one single problem with them. The costume looked great and we got to see her using the lasso of truth! One happy fan right here..
I could go on with the cameo's and such but I won't waste any more of your time! I enjoyed the movie and I would recommend it to friends. (I went with a friend who doesn't know shit about Superheroes and she loved it!) The performances were great, with exception of Jesse Eissenberg who did really good. It's worth your money, but keep the expectations low to enjoy the full potential.
