Riverdale is filming right now. The pilot is set to be released in 2 months. While the season, if they go on, the season is set to release at the end of 2016.

The cast:

K.J. Apa portrays Archie Andrews, "an intense, conflicted teen, a boyish high school sophomore who got pumped up over the summer working construction and is now juggling the interest of several girls, as well as trying to balance his passion for writing and performing music — against the wishes of his father and his football coach."

Cole Sprouse portrays Jughead Jones, a philosophically bent heartthrob who was once the best friend of Archie, who is still dealing with the rift that came between them.

Lili Reinhart portrays Betty Cooper, a sweet, smart, eager-to-please and wholesome girl with a long time crush on her best friend, Archie. She is tired of being the perfect daughter, student, sister, etc., so she turns to her new friend, Veronica, for life advice — much to the consternation of her emotionally brittle mother.

Camila Mendes portrays Veronica Lodge, an intelligent, confident, silver-tongued high school sophomore. Veronica returns to Riverdale from New York, eager to reinvent herself after a scandal involving her father.

Madelaine Petsch portrays Cheryl Blossom, a rich, entitled, and manipulative girl who recently lost her twin brother in a mysterious accident.

Ashleigh Murray portrays Josie McCoy, “a gorgeous snooty, and ambitious girl who is the lead singer for the popular band Josie and the Pussycats”. This version of the character will be African American, so some might mistake her for her bandmate Valerie Brown.

Luke Perry portrays Fred Andrews, Archie’s father, who owns a construction firm that he hopes his son will take over one day.

Marisol Nichols portrays Hermione Lodge, Veronica’s mother.

Mädchen Amick portrays Alice Cooper, Betty’s mother, who is the editor of the local paper. She is a perfectionist who places exceedingly high expectations on her daughter.

Ross Butler portrays Reggie Mantle, Archie's long-time nemesis & town prankster.

Cody Kearsley portrays Moose Mason, Archie's jock friend.

Daniel Yang portrays Dilton Doiley, the smartest kid in town.

Casey Cott portrays Kevin Keller, a popular high school student who's openly gay.

The show will have a lot of genres, sometimes we'll see teen drama episodes, sometimes just comedy, sometimes we get to see adventure episodes. It's something in between of Twin Peaks and pretty little liars, but with more teen drama and comedy. There will be a lot of mystery. We'll also get to see some music in the show.

Teen Wolf's Tyler Posey is set to make an appearance in the show soon. Just one episode, it's still a rumor. He was seen close to the set and talking to the director. Maybe some directing tips?

Also catch Dylan Sprouse on dismissed soon on the big screen.

Dylan is the twin brother of Cole, if you didn't know.

Lee Toland Krieger is the director of the pilot, while Greg Berlanti and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa wrote the pilot.

Berlanti wants the show to be very different than The Flash, Supergirl and other shows he's done. He wants it dark, mystery with a lot of comedy and drama.

The show is also in Vancouver, so Grant Gustin, Stephen Amell might pop up in an episode. Colton Haynes, well if he ain't busy, who knows?

Berlanti hopes it's not just a show for a season. The Archie comics have more than 1book/comic.

Berlanti hopes that he can make more comic book shows with this to have a universe.

Berlanti is set to write and produce on Weaveworld if they make it more of a teen show with a lot of mystery.

The plot is rumored to be: (Pilot plot):

The last day of summer isn't the best day of the summer for Archie. After a big thing happened in Riverdale.

It's all what it said.
