A part of me really just wanted to ignore this article, and tell you how amazing NXT TakeOver: Dallas was. Then I realized that no matter how hard I tried, there's really no words to tell you how amazing that show was. So, if you're a wrestling fan make sure you check this one out. If you're not a wrestling fan, this is the show that will make you one. Plus, the WWE Network is free for new subscribers, so go watch an amazing show, and pay nothing for it.
But now, the reason I'm here, WrestleMania predictions. Be sure to join in on the fun, and share your predictions and why in the comments section below.
United States Championship Match: Kalisto (c) vs. Ryback (Kickoff Match)
I didn't think I would find myself wishing for another Kalisto vs. Del Rio match, but it's WrestleMania, and here I am wishing for another Kalisto vs. Del Rio match. I'm sorry, but Ryback just hasn't quite find what it is to make everything click yet. I could also be holding a grudge against him ever since he decided to do CM Punk's running knees, and mock his GTS taunt. Ryback hasn't quite made his full heel turn yet, and I'm sure losing to a smaller guy won't set well for him. So I'm predicting that Kalisto pulls out the victory here, and Ryback makes that heel turn. Maybe he will remember that Ryback doesn't like bullies, and he will throw some soup on somebody from catering again.
Total Divas vs. Team B.A.D. & Blonde (Kickoff Match)
I think the point of these Kickoff matches are supposed to encourage viewers to subscribe to the WWE Network to watch the rest of the show, but I'm not really sure if this is how you do that. If we're being honest, this match is just to kind of get everyone on the card and promote their E! television series Total Divas. It's a shame because there's some talented people in here who could really shine on the biggest stage WWE has to offer. I say just let Emma, Naomi, Paige, and Natalya carry the match, and let the fans serenading Eva Marie in a chorus of boos become the official WrestleMania theme song for it. WWE has to promote that E! show though, and I will be entertained watching how this match plays out on Total Divas in about 3 more months.
Winner: Total Divas
The Usos vs The Dudley Boyz (Kickoff Match)
It's really hard to care for this match. It's all been built around The Dudleys used to put people through tables, but now they don't anymore. So, I'm assuming there's going to be a table spot in this match, and if that's your thing, then it's probably going to be done better in a match later on in the card. The Dudleys are back, and I'm assuming they're going to put The Usos over here, so The Usos can seem legit when they revisit the Roman & Company stable.
Winner: The Usos
The New Day vs The League of Nations
We've officially made it to the WrestleMania card, and we're witnessing a battle for tag team supremacy, but not the WWE Tag Team Titles. I'm not really sure what the difference is, but who really cares? It sounds good. I feel like I need to predict some heels to win, but it really doesn't make sense here. The New Day is one of the hottest acts in WWE right now, and The League of Nations is pretty much room-temperature water (I'm sorry Rusev, you're still my favorite). I believe this was at one time set for the tag titles, but was just dropped, so it would make sense that this decision could've been made to keep New Day champs, and give a victory to The Lads. Then, I see Wade Barrett in the picture, and I know that when Barrett is in a match, he must be pinned. Plus, it's not really a handicapped match since Del Rio will be spending the whole match trying to set up that double stomp from the top rope.
Winner: The New Day
The 3rd Annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
This match got moved up from the Kickoff Show. I'm assuming there's going to be some returns in this match. We just found out that John Cena has been cleared to wrestle, so my money is on him. Who better to bring prestige to something than Super Cena. I would really like to see Mark Henry be immortalized on the trophy in his home state, but we can't always get what we want, but maybe he will scarf some burgers in some kind of ad for Carl's Jr.
Winner: John Cena
AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho
WWE is advertising this as "The Dream Match." I don't know if they remember that they've given it to us 3 times already. I'm not complaining at all though. I'm a certified Jericho-holic, and AJ Styles was the only reason I would tune into Impact Wrestling. Jericho has been at the top of his game since turning heel, and we all know the performance Styles can put on. I believe I predicted this match to steal the show at the last PPV, and I'm very tempted to say that again. What I definitely can predict is that no one will be doing the slow, creepy chant that Jericho has been trying to get over the past few weeks. I feel like WrestleMania is the place for babyface victories this year. There's no reason for Jericho to win here. He has to give the victory to a full-time player, and I also don't want to live in a world where Fandango has a WrestleMania victory over Jericho, and Styles doesn't.
Winner: AJ Styles
Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match: Kevin Owens (c) vs. Sami Zayne vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Zack Ryder vs. Sin Cara vs. The Miz vs. Stardust
It's time for the annual Razor Ramon vs. Shawn Michaels Intercontinental Title Memorial Ladder Match. I don't know what's going on here. This really should be Owens vs. Zayne in a one-on-one match, and the ladder match should be for the U.S. Title. I'm also a little sour that Zack Ryder somehow managed to get in this match over Tyler Breeze. Despite my anger, this match will be a lot of fun. Cody Rhodes is easily the most underutilized talent on that roster. So a part of me wishes the main story coming out of this match will be the transition from Stardust to Cody Rhodes, and the WWE machine realize what a talent he is and push him to the moon. I imagine we will see Stardust do the falling star from off the top off the ladder, and Ziggler will pay homage to a bunch of other wrestlers. In the end Kevin Owens is going to come down with that title though, and I hate the fact that I'm barely mentioning Sami Zayne in his first WrestleMania, but he did have a Match of the Year candidate with Nakamura at NXT TakeOver: Dallas. Once again, go and watch this now.
Winner: Kevin Owens
Divas Championship Match: Charlotte (c) vs. Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch
It's not too late to throw Bayley into this match. In an ideal universe, maybe the WWE Universe, this would be a fatal four-way match. I'm sorry, but I can't not be biased here. I'm team Sasha forever. There's rumblings that the pink butterfly belt will be no more on Monday, and finally the Diva's division will be re-branded. There's no other person who should be the face of that re-branding than Sasha Banks. Well, there's Bayley as well, but she's not in this match. We've seen what these ladies can do in NXT, so if they're given the time, I'm predicting this is the match that steals the show. There's no way these three women will take the most crucial women's WrestleMania match and drop the ball. The division is in good hands with the 4 Horsewomen, we just have to get Bayley up on that main roster to help out. Also, Becky Lynch should have an amazing entrance here, but I also kind of want to just see her come out on the mechanical spider from Wild Wild West.
Winner: Sasha Banks
Hell in a Cell Match: Shane McMahon vs. The Undertaker
This is a weird one, but I have to say this is the match that's selling me on WrestleMania this year. It's going to be a complete geek show. There has to be a lot of bells and whistles to this match for it to work, so I hope WWE goes all in. I want Vince McMahon controlling The Undertake with the urn, Shane McMahon jumping off of Big Show and Kane stacked on top of each other, Limp Bizkit performing a concert in the background, The Mean Street Posse battling The Ministry of Darkness, and make sure the shocked, broken streak fan is sitting in the front row. It's hard to tell which way this is going. On one hand I desperately want to be done with The Authority, and on the other hand, I don't want Shane McMahon to be on the same level as Brock Lesnar. Either way, I'm going to enjoy this match so much, hopefully this one time, I can put my faith in WWE to know what it's doing.
Winner: The Undertaker
No Holds Barred Street Fight: Brock Lesnar vs. Dean Ambrose
I'm deeply saddened to say, this is not the same Brock Lesnar that we saw at last year's WrestleMania. I miss 2014-2015 Brock Lesnar. This is not how WWE should be using Brock Lesnar. I enjoy Dean Ambrose when he isn't going out of his way to find something to rebound off of to do a clothesline, squirting people with mustard and ketchup bottles, or losing matches via an exploding monitor. The story with Dean Ambrose is that he can never win the big matches, and although I would like to see him win a big match, Brock Lesnar is not the guy to do that against. We all know that these are the only type of matches Brock Lesnar has truly lost since returning to WWE though. I'm mostly just curious to how Dean Ambrose is going to use that chainsaw, because him actually murdering Lesnar is the only way I see Ambrose winning this match.
Winner: Brock Lesnar
WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: Triple H (c) vs. Roman Reigns
Despite the fans effort, Roman Reigns is back in the main even of WrestleMania. Everyone just take a deep breath, and we will get through this. If we want to stay positive here, we can look back at WrestleMania last year, and you know what? Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar was pretty entertaining. Yes, we had Seth Rollins come in to save us from a Roman Reigns title run, Lesnar carried Reigns through a match, but when he hit his four moves, it was kind of entertaining. I don't see Reigns getting a good reaction here. Triple H has given wrestling fans NXT, and did I mention how good NXT TakeOver: Dallas was. Triple H should be carried to the ring, and wrestling fans should fight his battles for him. The People vs. Roman Reigns sounds like a match that could draw. Triple H has put on two really good matches since being champ, but let's face it, Roman Reigns is not at the caliber of a Dean Ambrose or as much as it pains me to say it, a Dolph Ziggler.
It's hard for me to put my faith in WWE to know what they're doing for two matches. Maybe I'm wrong, and they know what they're doing. Maybe our wrestling Jesus, The Rock saves all of this. Then again we could go off the air with Roman Reigns showered in confetti, holding the title, the music so loud the cops come to check out the noise complaint, and Vince just smiling in the back with headphones on listening to cheers. In the end we will still be able to talk about how awesome that Diva's title match was, and if your a new subscriber, at least you didn't have to pay for it.
Winner: Roman Reigns
