This week's episode of Arrow's titled "Beacon of Hope" was an interesting episode that featured some humor, allies connecting, a reveal and lots of bee puns. Below are my scene stealers from this week's episode:

Felicity Smoak: While a swarm of robotic bees attacks Felicity at Palmer Tech, we got to see Felicity on her own and handle this situation without Team Arrow by her side for once. Well, except for Thea because she was pretty much with her the whole episode. But you can't disagree to more Thea and Felicity scenes! In this episode, Felicity wanted to be away from the lair, the team and most importantly Oliver and we got see how well she was able to protect herself from thy enemy of the week, Brie Larvon with her robotic bees. She took charge of the situation, and made a decision, fast. Not only did she win, but she was able to turn that situation into a great idea to make the world a better place. With her great skills and genius self, she wanted to make a difference with the technology she had right in front of her.

Laurel Lance: Alrighty, Black Canary. Not gonna lie, she was a pretty damn good scene stealer last night. From her friendly advice to Oliver to her not one but TWO canary cries, she seemed to show a lot of growth in this episode. Oliver got heated and a little over his head one too many times but Laurel was able to get him to see things in a better perspective, and that it's not all about darkness, all the time. I love how we got to see their friendship unfold to more than just crime fighting partners, but to a state where they can literally call each other friends. She gave Oliver a clearer picture on why Felicity broke up with him, and to stop blaming the Green Arrow for his actions. However, all this focus on Laurel really got me, and more like most of the fans...could Laurel Lance be the one in the grave? There was a lot of foreshadowing in this episode and it brought pieces together on who might actually be in the grave. From all the interacting and wise words we got from Laurel, it really does look like Laurel was the voice of reason.

Curtis Holt: Welcome to the team, Curtis! Another person who knows Oliver's identity, the whole team's identity and even the secret lair! He fanboyed just like any other fan would. His reactions were on point and watching him play Felicity for a day was actually refreshing to watch. He stepped up and was able to help out, adding onto his witty personality and beacon of much positivity floating around. Oliver didn't quite get why he was like that, lighten up Ollie, geeez. Curtis has been nothing but a great addition to this season, and in this episode we saw more of it and how much of a great asset he'll become. He is terrific. Mr. Terrific.

In other news...

  • Mama Smoak is the cutest little thing.
  • Damien Darhk cannot be stopped with his sassy lines.
  • And Malcolm needs to stop appearing in the most random places.

Don't miss an all new episode of Arrow next week at 8pm/7c!
