Ah, you think the comics are your ally? You merely adopted the movies. I was born with them, molded by them.

Folks, we are about to witness the greatest season finale of all time on The Walking Dead. The most bad ass villain ever is about to come to life before our very eyes. He is going to make the Governor look like a major chump. We are about to meet Negan and his partner-in-crime Lucille.

Hello Negan, Old Boy
Hello Negan, Old Boy

Let's start with Negan's arrival in the comics. In issue 100 he lines up Rick, Michonne, Glenn, Carl, Sophia, Maggie, and Heath on their knees outside the wall. He figures out Rick is their leader and elects not to kill him because he doesn't want the people of Alexandria to rally around the death of their fallen leader. After a sickening game of Enie-Minie-Miny-Moe, Glenn receives the head bashing of a life time. The others watch helplessly as Glenn gets his face bashed in by Negan's bat that goes by the name Lucille. What a way to introduce yourself.

I doubt, after the amount of build up, TWD is going to follow the comics exactly. For starters... No Heath... No Sophia.. I would say they could have the same pool of people by swapping in Daryl for Heath and Edith (who has taken on Sophia's story lines a bit). The cast has been saying no one is prepared for what is to come, so my guess is that the finale will be more epic with a gigantic twist we never saw coming. My friend Jimmy and I debrief after every episode and the following magic was formed in our last conversation.

Who is Getting the Business End of Lucille?
Who is Getting the Business End of Lucille?

Negan is a dick. Let's just start there. He is going to choose someone that will make us cringe and cry out at our TVs over. I think the plan all along has been for Maggie to be the recipient. I'm not sure at the beginning of the season we would have cared, but now that she is pregnant, we do. Nothing would kill Glenn more than seeing his entire family wiped away in one swing. It would cripple everyone. Killing a pregnant woman. I would not be prepared for this emotionally. So I am going with Maggie as possibility 1. The twist would come in that Glenn pleads for Negan to take him instead in order to save his wife and unborn child. (You getting the feels? I am.) Negan then takes Glenn, and does the deed. He proceeds by walking up behind Maggie and say "Negan doesn't negotiate" as he bashes in Maggie's head. I would break down and cry if this happened.

Possibility 2 is as equally jaw dropping and heart breaking. The scene is following the comics exactly and Glenn is selected as tribute. Just as Negan winds up, we hear "STOP! Take me instead. He's got a kid on the way." The camera pans over to a snarling Daryl Dixon. The swap is made and Daryl Dixon leaves this earth is the most noble way he can. Then Negan walks up behind Glenn and says "Negan doesn't negotiate" as he bashes Glenn's head in as well. This would break Rick. His two besties, gone like that. It would destroy him and season 7 turns into the all out war that the comics depicts.

Norman Reedus is by the far the break out star of the show and needs to be moving on to bigger and better. He has been stealing story lines from everyone since day 1 because his character doesn't exist in the comics. Abraham can handle being Rick's go to guy and this is the perfect way to pass the torch. Granted, this is just my theory. But what else can live up the hype that we have been seeing for the entire season? This would break me in so many ways but leave me satisfied. Daryl and Glenn were never going to be taken out by walkers, what a crappy way out after 6 seasons. This will be epic. We are going to get 2 major deaths, not one. After the rioting ends, fans will be left satisfied to how their favorite characters meet their end. If you have a different theory. Post below.
