Japanese photographer Izima Kaoru has been working on something special since 1995. Working with female models, they choose a scenario, a location, and designer clothes. Together they create the perfect crime scene, one where attention to detail is essential to capture the spirit of the eerie death. This series is called Landscapes With a Corpse.
With perfectly still bodies, everything it all seems very realistic. There's the sight of of violence, with the model being extremely well dressed.
You might call it twisted , but if this was a feature-length movie, it'd probably be the most amazing thriller you'd ever see.
Director Chad Fahs also made an 84 minute documentary about this amazing series, but little is known about the film's release. I tried reaching out to him, but so far, no success.
The last known work of Landscapes With a Corpse is dated from 2008, around the same time a 192-page hardcover coffee table book was released, containing what is most likely the entirety of the series. As of 2016, Izima Kaoru has no plans to revive and continue the project.
