Mashing up fan favorite franchises has always been a recipe for good laughs, and YouTube user PistolShrimps is no stranger to the formula. Now with the upcoming release of Hardcore Henry, a video-game like movie shot from a first person perspective, he's applied the filming technique to the world of Harry Potter.
Hardcore Henry: Magic Edition
What would it be like to be in the shoes of young Harry, discovering the power of magic, riding a broom and fighting the dark arts?
Leviosa Is Much Harder Without Hermione Around
Can you get this feather to levitate? Maybe you're not pronouncing it right. It's LeviOsa, not Leviosaaa.
Learning To Fly
Looks like Hardcore Harry still has a lot of (b)room to improve.
What Magic Is Really For
Come on, we all know that the best thing about magic is that you can turn yourself into a cat and go get cuddled by that girl in your Potions class you always had a thing for.
You Made It!
So this is what it looks like to be flying. The only thing we'd need now is a VR headset for a little more depth, and then this kind of video might even make us afraid of heights.
'Hardcore Henry' Is Out April 6
Hardcore Henry premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival back in September, where it received a "rowdy, rapturous reception," according to the Hollywood Reporter. Filled with shoot-em-up style violence and witty humor, the film puts you in the body of a man who wakes up half-human, half-robot in a lab with no memory of who he is. The only thing he knows is that his name his Henry, as a woman who claims to be his wife tells him just before getting kidnapped. So he goes on a quest to save her and leaves quite a bloody mess behind.
