Now Nickelodeon has told exclusively told MoviePilot that a TV Movie of the 1998-2004 series The Wild Thornberrys is in the works for a 2017 release date. The TV Movie will be a brand new adventure for the Thornberry family and them going through wacky hijinks and at the same time introducing brand new viewers (mainly kids 6-11) to The Wild Thornberrys.

The new TV Movie will be done by Klasky Csupo, the company that originally produced The Wild Thornberrys and will give very small tweaks to the show to make it more enjoyable and fascinating for the new generation of kids. “You have to remember people who are going to watch really don’t have a recollection of ‘The Wild Thornberrys’” he added. “You have to make it relevant to them but also nod to the audience that is going to be interested.”

With the revival of Hey Arnold and The Wild Thornberrys, Nickelodon is planning on reviving some other 90s shows which could include Rugrats, You Can't Do That On Television, The Ren & Stimpy Show and Clarissa Explains It All. Klasky Csupo has shared concept art for the upcoming movie.

Meanwhile Nickelodeon has currently reached out to older Nicktoon creators to talk about the possiblilities of reviving other Nickelodeon shows. “We are in discussions with them now and will probably have more to say in the next few months,” said Viscardi. “There’s a good likelihood we’ll be doing more revivals in terms of doing specials.”
