This year, DC Entertainment, CBS & the CW have announced that The Flash is crossing over with Supergirl for one episode. Most of the fans are excited about it. Some are skeptic. However you see it, this is another major DC event.
Thus far, both Arrow & The Flash created its own TV cinematic universe that has been successfully established. It was also a smart move by the producers to not feature DC’s most profitable characters: Superman, Batman or Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, etc & its own universes because it would be more focused on one major character or all 5 of them & less of the characters that have already been seen. So far, vigilantes, metahumans, sorcery (magic), multiverses, time travel and recently, aliens & space is where they’re at now. But atlanteans, amazons & androids haven’t been ruled out, at least not yet.
For me it’s about continuity. Storyline needs to connect & its tone around these characters. The Flash 2-part Earth-2 episode features a wormhole with various multiverses, so this upcoming crossover will be decent if not surprisingly awesome. But most fans wanted the characters to co-exist in the same universe.
However, there is a “possible” theory where they can have their cake and eat it too. Just hear me out.….
From 2014-15, Marvel Studios (& Disney) & 20th Century Fox took Quicksilver & put him in both separate film adaptations, X-Men: Days of Future Past & Avengers: Age of Ultron (Captain America: The Winter Soldier for the cameo). Both films were successful & fans enjoyed both versions of Quicksilver. Separate depictions. Separate universes.
However, DC and Warner have put 2 of Batman's villains: Firefly & the Dollmaker & put them in both separate TV adaptations, Arrow & Gotham.
Which means that the people of the CW can put their OWN Superman (Supergirl), Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, etc. in the Arrowverse without using other networks’ DC superhero (e.g. Supergirl | CBS).
Today, Superheroes (& Supervillains) in general are now an ideal & left a legacy behind that it can pass the torch from its predecessors. The main heroes were created in the late 1930s-40s. They could use Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern & Aquaman, set it the golden age & they can add its “successors” (along with Supergirl & Martian Manhunter) in the present day.
We all know the story, Last son of Krypton with godlike abilities, becoming Earth’s greatest champion.
For the origin, the producers & writers should make him & some of its key characters set in the late 30s.
Start off with the “original Superman (Action Comics # 1)” suit,
Next the “Max Fleischer Superman” suit (in the beginning stages, Superman only leap tall buildings and later possess flight.)
And later the “Earth-2” suit.
In the present day, its successor should be "Val-Zod"
Have his origin based on the “Earth 2” comic storyline & like Clark Kent, to adapt to the human world named Thomas “Tom” Robson Scott named after its creators, Tom Taylor, Nicola Scott & Robson Rocha.
To be further apart from the CBS’ Supergirl, This Supergirl would be more mature, brash and defiant with a heart of gold. Based from the Earth 2 storyline,
this version should start off as a Teenage Supergirl,
later as Power Girl
& then later as a fully embraced Supergirl.
It also should be named Karen Starr (since Danvers is taken) & become a wealthy public figure.
Born with a silver spoon, Bruce Wayne witness his parents murdered in front of his eyes as a mere boy, which allows him to dedicate himself to become one of the world's smartest men and greatest fighters. His physical prowess and technical ingenuity make him an incredibly dangerous opponent.
Like Superman & his origin, the producers & writers should make him & some of its key characters also set in the late 30s.
Unlike Superman, Batman should be passed down the mantle throughout the decades and only 3 successors became the Dark Knight after Wayne.
Richard “Dick” Grayson
1st Robin and then later Nightwing. Feeling unprepared, he fully embraced becoming the 2nd Batman.
Both Jason Todd & Tim Drake didn’t end up becoming Batman.
Jason (2nd Robin) was captured by the Joker & apparently “killed” him. But later, he took on the Red Hood persona. Tim only becomes the 3rd Robin & later “Red Robin”. The producers should add on that Tim retired Robin & the crime-fighting business.
Biological son of Bruce Wayne. The 4th Robin. The writers should make him as a mature adult, inherited the Wayne family fortune & become the 3rd Batman. They should also add that he’s been Batman for 2 decades despite his aging, almost breaking his “justice, not vengeance” vow by attempting to kill, Damien decides that his time as Batman and its legacy is over and vows "never again" as he shuts down the Batcave for good.
In the present day, its 4th successor should be Terrence "Terry" McGinnis.
Have his origin & its characters based on “Batman Beyond” series, set it in today’s world. Make him into an adult, inherited the Wayne family fortune by Damien Wayne to Terry (since he’s the “genetic” son of Bruce Wayne) & resurrected the Batman legacy.
His Batsuit should be the combination of the suit in the series & the suit from the film “Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts”.
03. WONDER WOMAN
Diana Prince, Amazonian Princess from Themyscira, aka Paradise Island. Given power by the Gods to fight against evil in all its forms. Went to the outside world to fight evil and acts as a positive role model for women everywhere.
It should be set in the 1940s.
In the present day, its successor should be Donna Troy.
A “Magical” duplicate of Diana that assume the mantle of the 2nd Wonder Woman. Not only she’s a photographer, the producers should add that she became its new successor as an ambassador of Themyscira & a government agent for the Department of Metahuman Affairs.
04. Green Lantern
Not only it was mention on “Arrow” & “The Flash”, it didn’t make an appearance yet (also it was due to the fact that the character is coming back to theaters in 4 years), Green Lantern is also not only an ideal but a membership of an intergalactic peacekeeping organization created by the Guardians of the Universe that has established thousands of members distributed throughout each space sector. There have been several assigned to the planet Earth in Sector 2814.
The 1st GL is Alan Scott.
Set in the 1940s, although he is not a member of the Corps, he taps into the same energy by using the magical Starheart.
In the present day (So far what I’ve said earlier in the Arrowverse), Hal Jordan (2nd GL) was mention on “Arrow” & “The Flash” & didn’t make an appearance yet.
The producers should mention that Guy Gardner, John Stewart & Simon Baz are already GL members.
One of its members & “successor” should be focused on is Kyle Rayner.
a powerful member of the Green Lantern Corps serving as an honor guard.
A human Atlantean hybrid, Arthur Curry is King of Atlantis and other undersea territories; he technically controls most of the planet.
It should be set in the 1940s.
In the present day, its successor should be Tempest.
Formerly as Aqualad & 2nd in line to become the next King of Atlantis.
06. MARTIAN MANHUNTER
To be further apart from their J'onn J'onzz of “Supergirl” where he’s a DEO director, the Arrowverse’s Martian Manhunter should be a police detective (much like its comic book counterpart) from Middleton CO. Mars’ last survivor & accidently brought down to earth by scientist Saul Erdel.
The writers should also include that during WWII (unbeknownst to everyone), Darkseid came to wreak havoc on earth along with his elite from Apokolips. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, GL (Alan Scott) & Aquaman (along with Supergirl, Robin, Mera & J’onn) band together to confront him. They didn’t have a name at the time & the 5 of them sacrifice themselves by saving the earth.
To everything I’ve told you, this could be the most possible way to put these heroes (their predecessors & their successors) both past & present in the same universe as where The Flash & Green Arrow are where it doesn’t interfere with the other universes.
This could work for the producers & writers for the CW.
Superman (& Supergirl) can exist, the same with Batman & the others. We could have everybody in one universe.
The Arrowverse is expanding & it continues to expand. And they could be part of a bigger universe that they don’t know yet.
If you like this theory, Sound off! Let me know what you think. If not, that’s fine. Everybody’s entitled to their opinion. Including mine.
Thanks for your time & take care!
