Anyone who has ever been on a diet knows that the most arduous part of the weight loss journey is keeping the pounds you've dropped off, and Melissa McCarthy is being a total realist when it comes to the possibility of her maintaining her 50lb weight loss.
McCarthy spoke out to Refinery29 about her relationship to her changing body type and the star gave a typically blasé answer that made it clear she doesn't really find her weight loss such a big deal, Melissa said:
"I'll be back again. I'll be up, I'll be down, probably for the rest of my life."
The Ghostbusters star went on to tell interviewers in no uncertain terms that if her weight loss was the most exciting thing they could ask her about, she might as well retire. Melissa joked:
"The thing is, if that is the most interesting thing about me, I need to go have a lavender farm in Minnesota and give this up. There has to be something more. There are so many more intriguing things about women than their butt or their this or their that. It can't be the first question every time, or a question at all."
McCarthy went on to point out the vast differences between the way women and men are interviewed in the media by explaining:
"It's like, Can you imagine them asking some of these guys I work with, How do you keep your butt looking so good' It would be like, What the f*** are you talking about? Why are you asking about the shape of my butt?"
